Dwans coming home late. Down by only 7 points. Thorn has kicked a couple.

50 m penalty and easy goal for the Suns.....the man on the mark did not move. Was it the runner getting in 'the zone'?

Some ill directed kicking from the Swans is killing us at the moment.

14 point win to the Suns. A side that got beaten by 10 goals from Footscary last week. Long season ahead for this Swans VFL side. Stephens was very good and it was Gould's best effort. McCartin was also good. Clarke, Gray and Taylor get plenty of the ball but their decision making is poor.

I agree with Crackedactor. One thing that did me excited a little today was the prospect of the two McCartins playing together in defence. Paddy reminds me a lot of Reg Grundy in defence. I can see them together in the future.

The team today was full of players who flashed in and out of the game but few put their hands up for senior selection. Maybe Clarke, Bell, Stephens (later) and Gould were best.

To be fair the Suns team was stronger today with an actual ruckman in Zac Smith and two AFL experienced inclusions in MacPherson and Harbrow.

We’ll get Paddy McCartin if we want him.

The whole league knows that he’s only playing football again due to his brothers support. Unless it’s GWS, would a team take the risk of separating him from Tom.

                  I think not.

I noticed Stephens limping pretty badly near the end of the game......hope he is ok.

Not sure of the midseason draft rules, but it worries me that Paddy will be drafted before we get a chance to upgrade him. Perhaps we can publicize a training ground 'concussion' a week or two before the draft?

Thought Stephens was probably our best. Quite liked Gould. For a while, it looked like Sam Thorne was going to save us. McAndrew did well against Smith in the ruck, but is obviously still learning the game.

McAndrew was quite good against Smith. He is very light but I noticed a few good taps to advantage. Stephens probably our best. Gould quite good. McCartin solid although missed an easy goal when he moved forward.

I think Taylor is OK as midfield/forward depth. Gray played well but cant see a future for him. Ling has about 4-6 weeks to improve or he will be gone. Amartey always looks good in patches but thats it. Bell the same.

Carruthers was not too bad either - first time I'd seen him.

I thought overall it was a reasonable effort, though agree it may be a relatively long season - but will be helped when we get a few back from injury and our overall depth is not tested quite as much.

Good to see Gould built on a decent game last week with another one today - I think the coaching group are really keen to see him put a month-6 weeks of good footy together in a row to show its clicking. Stephens played well - hope the limping towards the end wasn't anything serious.

And yes, Clarke,Gray and Taylor can find the pill, but their use of it shows why they are not in the seniors team at the moment.

I like the look of our rugby ruckman too - did some decent stuff. Quite clearly still learning the game, but has some promise that there might be something to work with there.

I didn't see the game, but notice Stephens topped the possession and tackle count.

I wasn't too disappointed. Suns had 16 players from their senior list compared to our 14 (including McCartin) as he is obviously senior quality. Not fussed about the form of guys like Clarke, Gray and Taylor as I don't see them being in plans going forward. Pleased with the likes of Stephens and Gould who are younger than the aforementioned and hopefully will be apart of our next successful period.
P.S thanks to the likes of UGG with their observations. Most appreciated.
