Do not change a winning team. You reward the 22 that got the job done. Buddy is somewhat of an exception, so him got McLean is the only non injury related change you would logically make.
Don't stress on the kids who are missing out. I'm pretty sure in 2020, every senior player except Gould got a game, plus some rookies.
Spots will open up pretty quickly with injury. And with so many young players, there will need to be weeks where we rest the first to third year players to stop them running in to the ground but seasons end.Comment

I read yesterday that he will be having scans to assess the extent of the damage to his knee. No word yet on the results.Comment

As if Dermie would know anything, a constant source of inane dribble as a commentator.
I trust our medical staff to know exactly what is needed over the next two seasons.
Never underestimate kids but according to the Adelaide media, 10 gamer hasn't shown much McAsey might be recalled to man a KPD post. I'm thinking if delivery forward this week is similar to last week then Buddy could be getting a lot of the ball leading out from the square.
Lance is what 34, has had soft tissue injuries. Our medical staff really did a good job keeping him on the park last year didn't they? They may have got things right this year with new people in charge of physical conditioning and a new doctor

I watched the crows geelong game. The swans can expect a very different game to the one against Brisbane. Brisbane offered very little pressure meaning the swans forward entries were clean and accurate. Also the brisbane defenders were always sagging of behind the swans players allowing gulden and heeney to lead uncontested for the short pass. In short brisbane were awful. Adelaide could not be more different. Manic pressure through the mids and defense. Gang tackling across the ground. Geelongs forward entries were under huge pressure meaning they often were long bombs or missed targets. The brisbane defence played a much closer one on one style, with lots of scragging. Plus they had a plus one tall blocking the space in front of goals. Adelaide then relied on fast slingshot footy caused by turnovers in the backline.
For the swans this is a very different proposition than Brisbane. The game will be more physical and congested. Balls will come to ground more, especially as buddy is not a great pack mark. The swans will need to work hard for their goals and even harder to hold the ball in the forward 50. The mids will be under much more pressure.
Should be a great contest.
Crows were manic. Their pressure was like Richmond. But they are a very young side and they will be hurting from the effort. Not only that but our pressure was very high as well. So they are going to get it going the other way which did not happen against the Cats. Cats wanted to just play keeping off. That is how they like it.

Good insight Wolfie. I does take time to set up a zone defence, and having less pressure on the kicker can only make it easier to pick one apart.Comment

According to the latest injury list on the AFL site, it seems that we got out of Saturday night injury free. Assuming that no one is choosing to keep an injury publicity free, the list seems to be healthier than it has been for years. There's only two players listed. Fox has a finger injury that's listed as 5-7 weeks and it's not confirmed when Naismith will return from his knee injury.
All good for a rise up the ladder.Comment

Might have to forgive Buddy on Saturday if his mind seems not entirely on the job.
Congratulations to Lance & Jesinta on the arrival of their little boyComment

I dont think Rowbottom will be missing this week. He got an injury, but played out the game. If they were at all concerned, they could have called in the sub, and we would still have 22 fit players.
Therefore the injury is not bad enough to warrant missing a week. He's in.
So one change. Buddy in for McClean.
What could be better, the Adelaide defense looking at Buddy whilst Logan gets free!
I am so really looking forward to Saturday, its being a real long times between drinks!doof-doofComment

Also based on Bevo’s comments about VFL zones he’s not going to improve his fitness by being dropped. I just don’t know if they can play two underdone FWDs in the same side?Comment
