it’s a case of warm the set & Cool the tinnies for the tigers next week. As long as we give the Tigers a bit of a touch up and don’t make it easy for them it’s all we can really ask of our lads.
Tigers will tell us clearly how far we have progressed. If we concede 33 scoring shots to them it could get ugly however. But I reckon we can give them a really good challenge next week. I worry about the bigger 'area' of the MCG however - we have looked puffed both last week and this week in the last quarter (noting we did take the foot off the gas a bit today, and rested Mcdonald and Buddy for a long while), and we can't afford for the same to happen next week, as the larger ground to cover will exacerbate those issues. But our increased focus on moving the ball by foot will benefit as an offset to some degree.

Agree very excited - anything could happen.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

          Was Wicks on fire?
Wicks tagged Brodie smith and cut him out of the game well

Sorry the Bloods I try not to read your stuff but it really is getting quite boring to say the side would be best 22 and leave Rowbottom out of the side is basically disagreeing with everybody on the planet who follows Sydney and I think you do it to bait people.

I want Stephens in the team think he can offer more than Blakey who i said was average and he proved me right today just as Hayward and Melican did before.

How good to be back at the SCG on a sunny afternoon. Still feels slightly weird to be out and about though. Pretty reasonable crowd with the restrictions, 23 946.

The increased pace of the game that everyone speaks about is really apparent at the game. Looked to me like fatigue set in for some players about half-way through the third quarter.

A pretty easy win in the end, obviously, but I was a bit disappointed by the last quarter. Didn't matter too much and a lot of it down to tiredness, but I think a few would have liked to run it out a bit better.

Really good to see the new blokes, they all went well. Especially enjoyed McDonald's game, he does quite a bit around the ground besides the goals.

Funny moment when Buddy decided to take on two and was found to be, well, a bit too slow. A little rusty at times, but still looks pretty good.

Defence still a bit shaky, as last week. Thought McCartin looked more settled, took some nice intercept marks.

I really like Hickey, genuine ruck, works hard all around the ground and also looks a little wild and mad (in a good way).

All in all, a pretty good day out. Huge test next week, but I think they can be at least competitive if they maintain this standard.

We lost to them last year by eight points in bad weather when we had an injury list so bad that we were picking almost every fit player over 190 cm tall. Despite these handicaps, we held them to their lowest score of the year.

This game is theirs to lose.

So much fun being at the SCG this arvo - couldn't keep the smile off my face; sunshine/footy/young Bloods/Buddy = happy Giant.

Really liked McCartin's game today especially since some of his defender mates had days to forget and the men in green seemed to have a different interpretation to rules down their end to ours. And of course, all the young stars...what else do we need to stay? Should be fun following this team for a few years to come.

The gulf in what qualified for HTB when they tackled versus us was jaw-dropping - literally two different interpretations and the bald git was mainly to blame as he often is.

The difference in interpretation between Nicholls and the other two was stark.

Warner looks difficult to tackle - strong in legs and hips. Has much better touch than I understood. Really drives us forward.

I don't think games from 2020 will tell us a whole lot about games in 2021 to be honest. Game is a lot different this year. It is going to be interesting to see how we stack up - but I fear we may get a decent reality check - but I'm hopeful also we can give 'em a real scare.
