I normally watch through to the bitter end, live or on TV. This round I quit during Q3 and went for a kick around at the local oval with my boy. We both agreed it was more fun.

I'm trying to figure out what happened after the first 3 weeks. Were they just an aberration? Is it the injuries - certainly playing a large part. Tired youngsters? Other teams have quickly figured out how to counter? All of the above, in some measure, maybe.

To call for the The Bloods posts to be deleted is a prime example of “Cancel Culture”. I stand with Piers Morgan and will call out this “Cancel Culture” when I see it.
The post from 09183305 was not for just TheBloods posts to be deleted, which would be wrong.....but for all posts to do with the RB 'good or not' debate to be deleted......which would also be wrong. The cancel culture claim might be going a bit Fox News but I agree, the discussion should be retained for historic purposes.....and future 'nostalgic' reminiscing.

When RB is a Swans legend, we can revisit.

In clearer terms for you: We need players like Rowbottom to take the next step and become elite in order to contend (and ideally win) a premiership.
I was a bit of a dick....and your rewrite is sound.

Not the best set of player ratings: Player ratings: Sydney Swans vs GC Suns, Round 6, 2021 (theswansblog.com). I think some players were rated a little too harshly (Kennedy, Parker (even if they didn't have enough impact they made a colossal effort to help out the younger, less experienced players and to show leadership), Blakey (not his fault he was injured early and the medical sub already used), Melican), and others a little too generously (Brand, Heeney).

Thanks for reminding me. However, I will defend myself. He was having a horror stretch and I was lambasted for calling for him to be dropped, and lo and behold the next pre season there was a big article on him in HS where he said his attitude and training had dropped off. Played his best footy from there on. I jumped back on his bandwagon when he turned it around. Yes, I could have used a better choice of words.

Can the mods just delete posts relating to this absurd discussion and we all just move on?

No amount bagging Rowie’s selection will change him being picked (or not) and frankly (to me) it’s tiresome.

Some say to ignore the posts, but I’ve gotta wade through those time wasters to actually read things worth my time

Come on Nico. You were always extremely unfair and harsh on Jude Bolton.

It's called censorship and it sometimes has a place.....and sometimes it goes too far, like those who call it 'cancel culture'.

Just to break the tension around RB, I thought I would post this article from the Roar by someone named James (credit to him for doing his own self-promotion), followed by a repost of my favourite draft highlight video, which I call "A Star is Born" (how original is that?):

James Rowbottom is the most underrated young player in the comp

Last sentence, which I agree wholeheartedly with: "He will continue to get better throughout his career and it is only a matter of time until people start giving him the praise he deserves."

That will be a stern test for some posters here.

That will be a bitter pill in combination with a large slice of humble pie. I have always wondered when they make Humble Pie where they get the humbles from.
