The disappointment of the Swannies loss has been lessened somewhat by watching Andrew Gaze emotionally speak about the impact of the Boomers winning the bronze medal.
    Magnificent!

Free kick Bulldogs…,. If I was a ‘Dons fan I’d be pretty pissed off. Although watching Essendon in this match and us last night it seems the exciting shootout has affected both teams.

Yes, that was pretty good. If you can, check out the womens high jump. The Australian woman won silver and her routine before running
in to jump is quite something. So anyway overall we have finished in 6th place in the medal count with 17 gold. A great result.
Considering everything that is going on at the moment Japan did a great job with putting on the games. It's an awesome country.
I was just reading that apparently break-dancing will be an Olympic sport at Paris in 2024. Presumably the French are good at it.

Spoke too soon; great quarter from the Bombers.

Yes, watched it too! Nicola McDermott was fantastic and her pre-jump routine was great to watch. Her facial expressions were magnificent and she gave a huge Lleyton Hewitt-like "Come on!!" just before she began her run in. And after her jump, she'd write notes in a book!

I don't like the prospect of meeting Essendon in finals so - shudder!!! - I'm wanting the Bulldogs to win.

Bulldogs losing by a small margin at half time but winning the free kick count 9-4.

Dante Exum did some really nice work late, when Slovenia were threatening a comeback. Joe Ingles managed to pull down some clutch rebounds. Matisse Thybulle was really handy late.

Patty happily bouncing the ball as the clock ran up, has put me in a much better mood.
Yep, that was my main focus last night. I had a feeling we were going to drop the game against the Saints. Was hoping the 'family reunions' would have them feeling great and primed to strike but my biggest worry was it would actually take their focus off the footy. So it was 'Go Boomers' for me. Much better viewing. I've moved on from 'the loss we had to have'.

Yes, Tokyo has done a splendid job.....the Games have been great. Helps that we did very well!

Break dancing at the Olympics? I find this to be the worst Olympic joke in history.....and when are they getting rid of synchronised swimming? FFS, that is still and always will be a joke.....that no one is interested in.

This seems to be the Round where a lot of the middling to disappointing teams have had days out. Watching the Bombers, they can't miss and Peter Wright is kicking a big bag! Saints were similar last night as were GWS on Friday.

Fair to say Aliir has become a better footballer at the Power and his fine form continues. From the AFL.com match report:

                        You shall not pass Aliir.

"Almost as if he'd watched Giant Sam Taylor's Herculean defensive performance on Friday night against Geelong and decided he was going to one-up it, Aliir Aliir controlled the match from early on. He gathered nine disposals in the first quarter, seven of them intercepts, to completely nullify Adelaide's ball movement. After the first break though, the Crows adjusted, kicking the ball away from him and hitting short lead-up targets. It didn't last for long though as the former Swan continued to dominate in the second half, finishing with 21 touches, 16 of them intercepts."

I miss him....and we could do with him ATM.

Peter Wright, seven goals including two absolute beasts in the last quarter. Good game to watch. Dogs only won the free kick count
by 3, 17-14. AFL launching an investigation. Heads will roll.

I only turned on the Boomers game, just a couple of minutes before three quarter time. However, I've just watched the extended highlights. While I'm not all that knowledgeable about basketball, Patty's game last night, would have to go really close to being on of the great games for Australia. Deadly from the outside, making some brilliant cuts inside, incisive assists, running the offence at an intense pace and constantly harassing Slovenia on defence. Just a superb performance.

I hope he goes around next Olympics.
