I suspect that it will motivate him to return to the fold. And I do sympathise with his decision. The longer the 76ers play off series went, the more he genuinely seemed to have the yips. So, it probably wouldn't have been great for the Boomers, if their star player didn't really want to shoot.

Either way, we have the nucleus of a very good team. I really liked Exum and Thybulle. And Josh Giddey, who wasn't in the squad, just got taken at 6 in the NBA draft. And if we add Simmons and Mills, that's plenty of speed and skill. Plus Joe Ingles, of course; who's a genuine NBA starter.

In regards to the big blokes in the middle, I thought Landale did well, and should only improve, after being signed by San Antonio. But after Baynes got injured, it appeared that we missed his rebounding and inside presence. And since he's now in his mid thirties, it would be handy to have another useful seven footer, or two.

Agree with you on all that, especially Simmons. The dude basically melted down in the play-offs and the pile-on has been immense.

I think it's good for him to break from to recuperate and it will be great for him to leave Philadelphia.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up. And hopefully scouts took notice of Dante Exum's performance, since another injury plagued season, has left him unsigned. I hadn't seen that much of him before, but in this tournament, I could see why he was taken at 5 in the NBA draft. I thought he was excellent late against Slovenia, and played a major part in snuffing out their comeback.

In the last 5 minutes of the bulldogs game, the bont got two absolute gift free kicks. Both tackled in possession, first one was ruled holding on, second was sling tackle.

Absolute BS, and I was going for the dogs in this game.
          I fear for the finals

On the Bont ; a friend reminded me of the $2,000 fine he got for breaking Nick Haynes' larynx in 2019, and how GWS should bring this
case up in their defense for Toby.

And now we are now behind this dodgy ROC country because they have more of those loser silver medals than us, and the Brits have
              won another gold.
Yeah, but you're comparing Australia with Great Britain. I reckon you should be allowed to include NZ with the Aussie medal tally. Their 7 golds would put us in front of both GB and ROC.

Yes, it's that never ending question isn't it? What to do about New Zealand? Should we invade and let them be another Tasmania for us
ie more artisan food producers and spectacular golf courses and as you say, additional gold medals every Olympics. Or just leave them be,
playing that silly game they play over there, and so us having someone to beat at the Olympics when these dodgy northern hemisphere
countries are having the temerity to beat us.

Yep good luck with trying to invade NZ if you thought that Afghanistan and Vietnam were challenging and ultimately humiliating to the invaders Aotearoa would be a similar scenario. They especially delight in beating Aussies and would be up for a challenge ????

You have every reason to be fearful!

After 19 games, the Bulldogs had a free kick differential of +80, clearly the largest in the AFL

The second best differential belongs to Carlton at +38.

Or we could just invite them to invade us and become our overlords. I could think of worse outcomes

They have an unending ability to get unending amounts of free kicks, damn fairypuppies. Nice to see them get rolled yesterday however!

New Zealanders come across all chummy and innocent, but are carrying out a full scale slaughter of one of our most underrated marsupials right before our eye's. Every year they kill millions of possums in the most barbaric of ways.
It is well overdue that we invade and liberate our marsupial kin as soon as possible.
After the invasion, Jacinta Ardern will be tried for war crimes against the possum, but I am willing to make a deal that if she agree's to be leader of the new expanded Australia, all charges will be dropped.

To placate any NZ uprising, we will adopt a merger of names. The new southern hemisphere superpower will be called "New Australia". The possum will replace the kiwi, emu and kangaroo on the coat of arms as recognition of the scarifices the possum has made.

Perfect. Its one of those initiatives, where the symetries and benefits just keep popping up.

I would encourage major general Burr to have a quick read of "The Art of War" and adopt 4 phase invasion strategy.
Step 1. Wait until Jacinta visits australia, and take her hostage by surronding the NZ embasy in Canberra with infectous covid patients. A suruptiously planned "lockdown" protest in the area, in conjunction with a well organised super-spreader seeding should do the trick.
Step 2. Blow up the NZ navy's ship (note, the singular) by a team of french mercenary scuba divers will experience in this sort of thing.
Step 3. Blow up the NZ air-forces plane (note, the singular) by use of a covert infultration into auckland airport's ground crew, and fill it with Diesel, not petrol.
                            Step 4. Profit.

Or maybe he could have shown some character instead of running away (to Wimbledon of all places) to, as he put it "work on his game". I fear he's already forgotten where he was born. Hope I'm wrong.
