I suspect that it will motivate him to return to the fold. And I do sympathise with his decision. The longer the 76ers play off series went, the more he genuinely seemed to have the yips. So, it probably wouldn't have been great for the Boomers, if their star player didn't really want to shoot.
Either way, we have the nucleus of a very good team. I really liked Exum and Thybulle. And Josh Giddey, who wasn't in the squad, just got taken at 6 in the NBA draft. And if we add Simmons and Mills, that's plenty of speed and skill. Plus Joe Ingles, of course; who's a genuine NBA starter.
In regards to the big blokes in the middle, I thought Landale did well, and should only improve, after being signed by San Antonio. But after Baynes got injured, it appeared that we missed his rebounding and inside presence. And since he's now in his mid thirties, it would be handy to have another useful seven footer, or two.
