I will stick to my guns regardless of it being my team that the medical sub rule should not be used to relieve players of pre - existing injuries.

I think you are getting the rules mixed up with cricket in any case.

It’s a shame the selectors don’t reads your suggestions before game, however.

A month ago I would have said GWS.

Now, I think Pies beat Bombers, WC beat Lions & we play the eagles.

Fair point. Plus he’d have the perfect close up view to diagnose any injuries from the commentary box.

Dawson is just our of sight this year. He's a legit AA.

Heeney's field kicking has been Dawson-like the 2nd half of the year.

Our midfield runs so deep that I feel we can be okay even without Mills and Kennedy. We have so many options, including just playing Fox for Mills, as we did today when Mills went out. Fox in the side, along with COR and Melican allows both Dawson and McInerney to through the midfield. They've both been fantastic. And gives us a backline made up of backmen, even if they're not the best back 7 ever seen. They're still pretty good, with a balanced mix of defence and offence.

Didn’t need to do this dance with Mills.

Chad was ready. He should have played.

I feel vindicated. Hold your head up as well TheBloods. All the people on here who criticised us for wanting to include Chad should put their hands up and apologise.
They dont have to do #### it was just their opinion

I think probably Bombers, but we will be playing GW$ barring a miracle. Think that is about a 50:50 proposition. We've never beaten them in a final.
I'm hoping first finals win for however long it is comes against our nemesis.

Some of the fringe types were ok today. Thought COR settled into it, McLean’s second half very good, Wicks more involved, and Rowbottom solid. Probably only Campbell a bit scratchy.

Usual suspects of Heeney, Dawson, Lloyd, JMac and Parker terrific. Paps goal was a wow moment and big Bud was up and about.

If he doesn’t come up, we will miss Mills badly. He was born to rack up big possessions in finals. Lord, he was injured today and still had 18 possies and a goal in just over a half.

Papley going in to centre bounces now and then has been a great play, he really spices it up in there and the surprise factor is to his advantage. Go Tommy!

Yes, even with Buddy kicking 6, I thought Dawson was BOG. 34 disposals, almost all them used the ball beautifully. McInerney was almost as good. Gulden's ball use was up there as well.

One thing I love about our back line, is how well they all get into position, to provide an option for anyone in possession (or scrambling for possession). In that regard, Lloyd was exceptional today.

I would say put both Chad and Papley in at the centre bounces.

                        Parker - Papley - Chad = “Boom”

If Josh Kennedy is also injured that is it then we will go out in the first week as the Bulldogs.
Only for concussion I believe....there's been a few injured players subbed off that have played the next week this season.

It could happen. If Mills can't play next week, Chad would be first in line to be the medical sub, so has a good chance to see some action.

Sorry BS....this is, you guessed it.....BS. There is nothing in the rules that suggests what your suggesting. This is just another rather poor attempt to bring up Chad's non selection today.....and have a whinge. Post event skylarking at it's worst! An apology?

I was watching Mills moving around after he came off and I didn't get the impression that his injury had taken charge. Rather that the health people decided that he'd had enough for one day and that it would be better to take a break now and come back for the next match refreshed and without making his condition worse. I had in mind what people have said that his sort of injury requires exercise rather than too much rest. I think they are professionals who know when to pause.
I expect to see him run on next week.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
