Of course that turned out to be only somewhat accurate as we are playing in Launceston rather than Hobart.

What is ironic is that i was browsing some archival threads .. looking for info on an unrelated subject .. and i stumbled on a thread from March last year .. I will not quote it, because the last thing I want to do is cause another ruckus. Let's just say one of the parties' posts about a particular headband-wearing Swans player were unrecognisable to what we regularly see these days.. It's very disappointing but more than anything it's confusing... and makes me wonder what happened to make it turn from unreserved praise to relentless bashing.

I disagree with Bangalore a lot but I also understand some things he’s trying to say
I’m ok with free speech on here ..it’s not radical speech.
And I also do get what The Bloods is trying to express at times.
        I wouldn’t think we’d have to ban anyone .that’s a little unnecessary
Part of this is being able to respond in clever and humorous ways like a lot of people on here do so well ..cudos to them..
We can’t agree with everyone but we do coexist and those two are equally invested fans of the same team us as ..amd they do contribute plenty of good points

There are teams in September with imposing midfields.. Port Adelaide, Bulldogs, Essendon, GWS... and some with less so... Melbourne, Brisbane, Geelong.. it looks like our draw leans towards the strong midfield sides.. we need Mills and JPK in absolute top shape! Such a tough decision.. do we risk them this week? Or do we save them, try and win without them, and then get them ready for next week to potentially help us get through to a prelim??

I do NOT envy the selection panel this week!!

I would definitely be against banning or sanctioning either TB or BS.

TB has a mix of opinions like most of us. But he has an negative obsession about one particular player. But was that any worse than my own obsession with Tom Derickx? The only difference is that RB is a good player and, well, Tom Derickx was Tom Derickx. Eventually it will be overwhelmingly clear that Rowbottom is a good player and that should let the topic peter out.

BS is a somewhat different story. He is and expert in the ridiculous. It is a rare talent to have someone being able to pass a skewer through Socrates without causing him to bleed. Such is his talent. He shows us why some people hate Brian Taylor and others love him. BS needs to pick and choose his spots better. If not for Covid, I would offer BS some free lessons in the Ludwig Clown School, but a nasty spike protein has infected the schools website and all my current programmers are on ventilators, although I think some have filled the oxygen tanks with cannabis vapor.

Anyway, I think they are both trolling us, and I am up for the game.

As a partial disclaimer, if either BS or TB have a mental illness, join the club. If it gets to be too much for you, cut and run and try something else. Feel free to call me at Beyond Red and White, if you are being overwhelmed by irrational thoughts and need to chat to a prerecorded voice.

On the subject of the Swans playing GWS I agree with NeonBible that without Mills and JPK in top shape - and Blakey who was becoming more influential in every game played, it is going to be difficult to get through to a prelim. On one leg Mills managed to have 19 disposals etc. on Saturday but surely they can't do that again and JPK with a suspect hammy would be such a gamble. Without them both the team would have to be thrown around too much. No doubt a fair bit of time is going to be put into stopping our refreshed Buddy this next game too and with a weakened midfield would we be able to exploit that? Tricky! Add to that the decision whether to bring back the experienced but under performing Reid or stick with the inexperienced but solid McLean - even more tricky!

Whatever, we are going to enjoy that they are playing in a final and do our best to cheer them on. I will be happy with whatever they manage to achieve. It has been fun being a Swans' fan this year, they have provided us with some exciting football.

Maybe Paps rotating through the middle could be the secret weapon to winning this game.

does anyone know what our support is like down there ..

Do we have lots of swans supporters in Tassie do you think ..I hope so ..would love to see that for our final .to see madly cheering , excitable fans in Swans gear and the big banners behind the goals
Went to the game in 2012, plenty of Swans supporters in Tassie. Hoping to get to Saturday's game as well

I still haven’t received an email from the club with my barcode number . I’ve logged on to my account and can find my membership number but buggered if I can find the barcode number ?

My son is a Melbourne member and received an email from them with his barcode number .

Frustrating to say the least looks like I’ll have to make some phone calls at 10

My understanding is that there was an altercation over the very last parking space on Level 4 at Fox Studios. It's all been downhill since then.
Weirdly, both combatants were going to the New Order concert at the Hordern just before Covid. I'm told it was a great show, but not enough

I can't see this posted anywhere else ... Luke Parker was on the MMM show yesterday (Sunday) and gave some insight into Mills' injury. A lot of paraphrasing here but he said it is the type of injury that is manageable as long a you keep playing. He said the two weeks isolation Mills had a while back is what has set him back.
If you listen to podcasts, it's about an hour into the MMM Sunday Rub.

There grand old lady of Australian sport is a true test of a player because the ground dimensions are perfect for AFL. There is no where to hide when the joint is rocking.

                              Good test for Rowy.

Just got my email from the Swans with pre-sale ticket info for the game. Such a pity we can’t go down to Launceston for the weekend.
It'd be fun. They should have special no quarantine flights for fully vaccinated Swans & GWS supporters. You gotta have dreams.
