Chad and Lloyd will both be missed (along with Papps, of course) but its still a good looking side. I would have expected Roberts to debut ahead of Sheldrick but good luck to the lad. He has obviously made quite an impression.

Re team selection: it could have been worse. They're missing Haynes and Hogan, on top of Greene and Daniels. The outs balance out in my view.

I thought Roberts might come in for Warner. He may be in protocols too.

          O'Riordan for sub.

          ION: can't wait.

Not meaning to boast. ok I actually am boasting. but I posted on Twitter that I thought Sheldrick could come in for Warner as he's a real goer as we all know Warner is.

HF: [14] Tim Taranto, [27] Harry Himmelberg, [38] Daniel Lloyd
FF: [37] Bobby Hill, [26] Jake Riccardi, [31] Jarrod Brander

This is a group of talented footballers but, on paper at least, they aren't the strongest forward line. Our defence really should match up favourably. I'll be very interested to see how we go because it will give an indication for the rest of the season when we play stronger set-ups like Richmond and Geelong.

I won't be surprised if Reid is sub, particularly if it's a dry night. He offers some versatility and cover against loss of a tall. He, McDonald and Franklin are all pretty mobile and could play on a wing, if a small were injured. And if we lost a defender or Hickey, he's best placed to cover their roles. McLean is going to need to do some ruck work but we wouldn't want him to have to carry the ruck solo for a substantial portion of the game, and there isn't anyone else who could obviously provide some kind of chop out. Fox and Dawson have done so in seasons past but neither is available to do so on Saturday.

I'm not concerned in the slightest about our Covid situation. I view Covid as just one of many reasons as to why players miss a game or two. How a club responds is a measure of the depth but also culture and I am confident we have both areas covered. I don't think any draconian management of our players's social circumstances is required and feel that it will only serve to harm their mental health and push them to move back to their home states.

As mentioned, it's important to view all this with a more balanced view. No need to get to worked up, life is so good in Australia, especially with the footy back on!

Fixed the first line for you Barry Glad you'll party like its 2010 again however I guess a significant chunk of the crowd on Saturday can party too, seeing they'll effectively be getting in for free through one means or another.

Interesting changes given the covid outs in the team, but broadly makes sense. Wonder whether Ladhams not being involved in COVID related (My guess) or whether its meant to be a kick up the bum. Is there a VFL trial game this weekend for the reserves?

If your saying Sheldrick will be fantastic people on Red and White are believing it.

Not great that Lloyds out, but one of my pet ideas has a chance of being trialled this week.

I’ve wanted since late last year to see J-Mac, Campbell and Blakey in the same backline. I refer to that combination as the three headed warrior. The combination of speed, dare, elite kicking skills and constant run out of defence would petrify any opposition. The counter attacking potential as unparalleled.

Lloyd and Cunningham’s positions in the backline have stopped the three header warrior from breaking free.

Now with Lloyd out and Cunningham having a spell the three headed warrior could be unleashed this weekend.

It’s a bit like having Usman Khawaja opening the batting for Australia. Most cricket supporters could see that Usman should be in the 11. It just needed some circumstances to fall into place for the selectors to make it happen.

Can anyone help with how I can book tickets for Saturday with my membership?

I have a barcode from last year but it’s not working with the Ticketmaster site
