General footy chat Round 3: the other games. Well, I guess I love the game.

I say, I guess I love the game, because even though I'm still feeling bitter and twisted about the 31-14 free kick count, I still plan to watch some AFL this weekend. And I'm not sure if I'd be doing that, if any of my teams in other codes copped a similar sort of shafting. So, I really do love our game. Although, the game that I'm currently most interested in, is our VFL game in a couple of hours time. You know, just to see what promising talent is coming through, just in case we need them.

But hey, once that's finished, I will be checking the two AFL games tonight. The four teams playing tonight have only two wins between them, and those two wins belong to the Demons. So, I'm hoping it stays that way. That is, a win for the Demons over the Bombers, and because it's probably no good for either of them, a draw between the Crows and the Power. With perhaps that guy who used to play for us, missing a chance to win the game after the siren.

After that, what I'm most curious about for the rest of the round, is will the wheels start falling off the teams that I thought were going to be crap, but are actually playing well. Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn are all currently unbeaten, so, I would like some sort of indication if any of them are genuine contenders, or are they all just early season pretenders?

And speaking of wheels falling off, I would like both the Eagles and Giants, to slip to 0/3 starts.

Good chance. I think they will both lose. Leon Cameron blamed the players, not his stupid game plan, and made wholesale changes, and the poor eagles cant field a team.

You can see the interest and endeavour draining from the body of the Rat, game by game. It’s so sad to watch ????

I must have a look, I need a bit of a cheer up, after our VFL team just got pipped at the post.

The draw is starting to look a genuine possibility.

I was so close to jagging this week's Nostradamus award. But hey, since I'm an atheist who doesn't believe in psychic powers, I can live with that. I can also live with Port being 0/3.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a player like Jordan Dawson who could kick a match winning goal in a game. Would have been a handy addition to our list in the Bulldogs game. We should make him an offer when he's out of contract. Don't you think?

                      Oh well. That’s quite funny.

When I switched off early in the last, my only sightings of him had been getting mugged a couple of times and looking around going, what am I doing here.

Anyway, he’s still a rat, and they’re still crap.

But good on Nicksy at least.

I can't help but be happy for Dawson. It's every players dream to kick a winning goal after the siren and he did it. Good for him.

Dawson kicked the goal, it was a floater that wandered back. Good on him, but it was a free to Murphy after one of the stupidest and wildest plays from the Port player (?Mayes) imaginable. We’re all saying Wicks’ made a dumb decision (it was), but this left his in its wake. Only flicked on this game for the last quarter and the score was close, but it was tremendous; everything The Showdown is billed to be.

Hey, I was briefly wondering, if the universe was sending me a message to be a better person. But then I thought, nah, @@@@ that.
