Just a note on Lloyd's kicking. I wince when he has Ball in hand as I see his kicks going high and floating too often. For me he is not a good deliverer into the forward line.

Really impressed with how Bell and Ronke played the small forward roll. The two goals from Bell were really good small forward goals. Ronke also had a great impact of the subs bench.

Our small forward mix suddenly looks healthy.

Papley and Wicks will most likely be available this week.

I would like to ask Barracuda, who has great insights into the small forward role, who Barracuda thinks represents the ideal small combination?

Papley is the number one small forward but who should partner him out of Wicks, Ronke and Bell?

Would Barracuda not go for any of Wicks, Bell or Ronke but use a rotating Parker or Florent instead?

It seems like North played with Man on man defence all around the ground and we really struggled with it as our players did not have any space or time to execute the kicks. The competition knows that we struggle with contested possessions and our work around the stoppages and clearances is subpar to the elite.

We really struggled all game to go the corridor, our i50 entries are bombing the ball on the head of a forward, and our ability to lock the ball in f50 is less than last year. We need this to turn around over the next 2 weeks or else we are at risk of missing out of 8.

The took the bulldogs blue-print from the week before, but didnt have quite the skill to get a win.
It would seem like the other clubs have found out how to combat our game plan. Is Don Pyke still at the swans?

GWS will make a big play for Don Pyke. Should we try and keep him, or is his work done at the Swans?

We only need some tweaks. Not a new game plan.

                1. Get Kennedy out of the team.
                2. Have more CBAs with quicker midfielders. We seem to have more success with Florent and JMac at the CBs.
                3. We need to execute better than we have the past 2 games, or at least execute better for longer periods in the game.

The past 2 games we came up against a couple of sides that really played hard and with intensity for most of the game. Every coach implores their side to give 100% every game, but we know it can't happen. We will have our days an other clubs will have theirs.

Agreed- Joey needs to be med sub. Also, can someone teach Lloyd to kick the ball flatter? His helicopter kicks are shocking. Surely not too much to ask from another wise accomplished footballer. Frustrates me no end.

Just heard McInerney interviewed on SEN:

                        * Said he was in a rotation with Florent, but jumped on phone with Dean Cox during Q4 and asked to stay in centre bounces and clearances
                        * Trained at HBF pre-season, but Campbell and Blakey's form pushed him back onto wing and midfield
                        * Said he was 'cheating, walking and out on my feet' when asked why he was out in so much space when he took the Q4 mark and goal. Very funny.
                        * Gave a great analysis of the winger's role in when to commit to the play and when to hold space.

What did everyone make of Ladhams effort on the weekend? Aesthetically he looks unfit and little muscle definition. Contribution wise he was good with a few stuff ups. Feels like some extended game time until Hickey comes back will do him good.

He got better as the game went. It was he who got to the contest right at the end to stop Goldstein marking cleanly from the 50m penalty kick. It was his job to be there, but still good that he was. And managed to spoil.
