Not quite sure where this post belongs but 'Go Mills! At the moment he sits equal 6th on the coaches' votes leader board, in the top 9 players. He is not on any ones radar to be a potential winner!

This game is the perfect test for us to see if we are genuine top 4 material.

At the moment, I think we are in a race for 2nd with the bulldogs, freo, saints and lions.

I agree Barry. It's going to be tough, but I hope we're up for the challenge this week. There can't be any lapses when we play quality teams like the Lions.

A lot of talk in the media of Mills going to a potential lockdown role on the star midfielder for the Lions, Neal. Would be a great match up to watch.

Mills has done the job on Danger and Bont so far by getting dangerous. He beat Danger by getting a lot of uncontested possessions on half back. Danger didn’t follow Mills and moved to where he thought the long kick was going. The Swans happily kicked it to Mills because his distribution is superb.

Neal will lose the battle if he doesn’t man up on Mills.

We should put Ollie on Neale. It's one way to get him closer to the ball. Neale is a very slippery player and difficult to tag. He's very quick off the mark.

Glad Robbo pointed out to Whately that he had no doubt whatsoever the Swans are giving Paddy the very best care possible, iterating club doctors love their players to ensure their health comes first. I thought Robbo then made a good point, saying Longmire's remarks at today's presser was also possibly for Paddy's mental health considering his distressed reaction in change room upon failing concussion test.
AS I just posted in the Hawks game thread, I loved Horse's positioning on this - but, for whatever reason, Wheatley chose to complete ignore Longmire's main message. His (GW's) point that we were somehow suggesting not to treat concussion seriously was a strange/silly one. More to the point was why would you treat McCartin's concussion differently to, say, McDonald's - and why take unfortunate and very personal footage out of context and try to guess what's going on with someone's mental and physical condition. That's what the conversation should have been about.

I haven't watched the Lions this season. I was just looking through their draw so far and It's not all that intimidating. Wins over Port, Essendon, Nth Melbourne, Collingwood and The Suns. Their only loss came against Geelong.
I'm very much hoping we will pick up where we left off against the Hawks. I'm encouraged that we can beat these guys and really set our season up.

Really interesting selection so far. No Melican and Gould on an extended bench. I would've thought that there would've been some social media story if Gould was debuting. My best guess is that the bench will be Gulden, Papley, Rowbottom, and Kennedy. I guess Kennedy could be the sub again with Gould coming in but I think that is less likely.

Reid may spend more time in defence than attack. Interesting interesting.

Gould would wanna be fitter than what he 's shown so far , debuting against lions

Gould’s debut has been the most anticipated Swans debut in living memory.

                          Will it happen?

If Gould doesn't come in, we're awfully short against a pretty tall Lions forward line. Even if he does play, we're still pretty short. But he might have a stab at taking one of the taller forwards.

I guess they could swing Reid into defence, but I'm not sure we've seen Reid play in defence at the top level in anything other than a "spare man at the end of the quarter" role.

By all accounts, Gould has shown good form in the twos. That would make him eligible for selection though I’m not sure if this is his time. But I guess I would like to see him debut sooner rather than later!
