For exactly the same reason I have a problem with others giving our boys a clip when we lose. I doubt, if ever, a team goes out to lose. Doesn’t try their hardest, even when they lose. Sometimes, it just isn’t your night, or you are just inferior. And it was always going to be tough for the Bombers tonight. It’s happened to us in the past. It happened to Essendon tonight. I just think that such a sanctimonious post is fairly unsavoury (and lacks any sense of short term memory after our result against Suns game last week).

When you’re an All Australian, a Brownlow medalist or a premiership player - or even give your real name or use your actual picture as your profile avatar, perhaps you might have earned the right to berate at a team that was embarrassed. Carey & Bucks have a very public profile attached to their comments. But anonymous pot shots are cheap. I just think that for someone who so often takes umbrage when others don’t show TB the “respect” that you fawningly believe he deserves, you could show a little more class. Maybe I over estimate you.

I do. He knows Sheil is, a confidence player. He was getting inside his head. It worked. Sheil was woeful

Side note - loved Blakey doing the kick-ins. Lloyd should be concerned, without those cheap possessions he didn’t offer much tonight and it puts his poor 1v1 defending even more in the spotlight.
I’d be disgusted if I was a bombers fan, that was a complete horses..t effort tonight. A rabble.

I disagree. Lloyd was pretty good tonight. In fact he saved a potential goal with a huge punch out of bounds. He defended very well. He also hgot on the end of quite a few kucjs as the second defender to touch from a kickout or a defensive thrust forward.

I agree I reckon Lloyd played pretty well tonight but his kick in days might be numbered.

No , happy to say they are not . Florent looks ok in defence , maybe its for him . Him and Gulden were clearing it out of there all night , unbelievable work rate from them . Hayward Wicks did their job , Ladhams monstered that dill with the mullet. Bell was superb , he doesnt stop . Gut runs constantly and takes the hard hits to clear the way for others .

Chad and Mills are our midfield duo . That is it. Forget Heeney, Papley the rest . They are the 2 we will build our midfield around . The next Jpk and Parker . They are both stars and they are sensational

Blakey Mccartin brothers and Lance also good . Hickey works hard , great he got some run into his legs without having to come back in a tough slog.

                  Great to know your perfect.

Stating the obvious but we can only play against the opposition that shows up. And the fact that the Bombers didn't even bring their
B game shouldn't detract from our performance. Sometimes part of being on song is you don't allow the opposition to play their best.
As one of the commentators said, 21 scoring shots in a half of footy is pretty damn good. Mighty impressed with Warners game and
Mills confirmed again he is our best player week in, week out. A bit surprised to see Parker having a go at Shiel though. He probably
didn't need to do that. Shiel is a good player having a bad run at the moment. It happens.
                    Anyways, onwards and upwards....

I never claimed to be perfect. Nor am I going to get into a slanging match with you. I simply answered your question. And I feel fine about myself, thanks for your enquiry. Perhaps we can just enjoy the win & move on?

Parker’s little dig is going to be divisive, I feel (some might see it as humorous, others as unnecessary) . It would be interesting to know what brought it on. Luke seems, to me, to be a genuinely nice guy. But also very competitive and the heat of the moment might have got the better of him. Strategically, it might have given that edge to get Dyl off his game a little too. Unless there is something between those two perhaps? But sure ask heck, if you dance that dance, you’d want to have a pretty flawless game after that, so it doesn’t come back to bite you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it stems from something that happened back in his GWS days. Shiel was pretty arrogant back then, running around with all his elite buddies. Now he looks very ordinary without them. Perhaps that was what Parker was getting at.

I wondered whether it might be related to some GWS-era animosity. Shiel played in that acrimonious 2016 qualifying final, for example.

Meanwhile, great games from Mills, Warner, Gulden and the McCartins (particularly Tom). Rowbottom applied great pressure.

Easily Papley's best game this year. The forward line looked good and the kicking into it much better (although we did spurn a few chances with long shots rather than passes).

I thought the pressure applied by Wicks and Bell was noticeable.

Can’t believe the AFL website even suggests the McCartin-Caldwell incident will come under scrutiny. It was simply a great contest by both players with eyes on the ball. Bravo to both of them.

As for Rowbottom, I suspect the fact Merrett played out the game saves him. It’ll likely be careless, low impact and high, which is a fine. But given he ran past the ball, which is a no no, there’s a chance it gets graded as intentional, which would mean a week.

I think if Luke had his time again he wouldn't have done it. It's not really his style historically. He's always been a no nonsense great
                                player.
