I would be very surprised if they play both rucks. Out of that bench I expect:

Nick Blakey, Ryan Clarke, James Rowbottom and Logan McDonald to play. Josh P. Kennedy as Sub.

Matt Roberts, Peter Ladhams and Ben Ronke to play Reserves unless Hickey does not come up.

I think dropping Amartey implies Ladhams will play. Could be a straight swap.

Hmm. That would surprise me since Reid's been doing so well in the hybrid role, which John noted on Monday.

I've regarded the Amartey in over McDonald as essentially allowing Logan to play himself into form/confidence in the reserves, with the intention, ultimately, to bring Logan back.

I indicated earlier in the thread that I thought this might be the game for that, and that remains my hope and expectation.

As for playing alongside Buddy, between him, Paps, Heeney and Reid surely its a gift being the 5th string fwd ?

Lets not pretend Buddy is stopping anyone from kicking bags, plenty of opportunity for a developing Fwd.
The assumption was, I believe, that people would know they were talking about 3rd string TALL forward.

All bring different attributes to the table. If we play finals at the MCG which will happen if we make the final 4 (Melb or Geelong), then I think McDonald is the best bet on the wide open spaces with his ability to cover ground well and kick long (albeit not always straight).
Are Amartey & McLean much faster than Ladhams?

McDonald for Amartey is fair enough but how do you fit Joey and Roberts in?

Clarke out. Decent role player but not best 22 . Would prefer Gus or Roberts

McDonald and McLean are more dangerous marking forwards than Ladhams. I really don't see him replacing Armetey. I also note that the Kangas are only playing one ruck (Goldstein) so why should we play two? I don't think he dominates now like in the past. I think its more likely Logan comes in but I will take my hat off to you if we go with two rucks.

Who are Kennedy and Roberts replacing, or does that fall under the don’t talk about it rule?

Callum Coleman-Jones is also a ruckman. He only had 4 hitouts last game, so I doubt this will come into serious consideration as to who replaces Amartey. I think it's more likely to be Logan.

Don't change the side that's done it well in recent games so fairly simple I would have thought, Amartey out, so either McDonald or Ladhams to replace him.

                              Kennedy sub.

You may be right but I'm not sure it's the answer as Reid has been in the best form of his career playing as our 2nd ruckman and has actually been a real weapon at the Centre bounce against the opposition's back ups!

I reckon we should keep Ladhams as the Hickey back up for now and play him into some strong form in the VFL as I'm not 100% convinced his body will make it through the year... Fingers crossed!
