We beat the best clearance side 43 - 37 and matched them 16 - 16 in the centre
They brought a high level of pressure, which will be good preparation for next week's game
Hickey seems to be on the mend
    Good signs from McDonald
Given the 1996 celebration etc, North were really up for this game

Next week our season is on the line. Take the 4 points and start preparing.

Well said , let’s not forget North probably should have beat Collingwood a few weeks back

True, but the Norf thing should worry them more than us. Their pressure was very good. They are a decent clearance side and gotta wonder why they’ve been smashed by so much this year (they’ve clearly given up in other games)

Will they make a play the lizard one day?

Nick may go elsewhere eventually but I suspect it will be at the end of his career not at the beginning.
He is a Blood through and through and grew up supporting us and has benefited from being involved with this club for many years
Let’s not forget he could have gone to either the Roos or the Lions under father son but chose us.
We got another 10 years unless he gets the proverbial Godfather offer.

Thought Norf were very good- we were just that bit better. Two of our lads out of form: JMac and TMac. May sound harsh but I would bring in Gould for Tom against the Pies and Campbell for Justin. Clarke has been good in previous weeks but didn’t do much in this game so wouldn’t be surprised if he were to go out, though I’d rather have Rompe than Wicks. Sorry TB- as much as we love Justin, he really needs a rest. The pressure next week against the Pies will be immense. Then bring both back against the Saints.

Absolutely no way we drop McCartin! I'm not even convinced he had a terrible game. He got towelled up by a strong performance from a young superstar. Some days you get beat.

McInerney is a trickier question. He does seem to be out of form. Would Cunningham or Campbell offer more? Perhaps. Normally I would advocate sticking phat and helping him rediscover his form. But the whips are cracking and I think it depends on how strong a case the others are making their cases for selection.

Gotta say we are blessed with a minimal injury list! No doubt a combination of good management and good luck. There doesn't seem to be anyone missing from our current best 22.

I hear you bloodspirit but his game was woeful. Next week he would be up against someone like Mihocek and if he gets a heap kicked on him his confidence could be truly destroyed for the finals. I wouldn’t risk it- bring in Gould and save Tommy from another humiliation- he and Justin were our two worst in this match.

I think there would be zero chance of Gould getting an inclusion this week (barring injury) in what should be a hotly contested match.

If Tom is going to be humiliated, I'm sure Gould would not do any better. I'm confident that Tom will be back to his best next week, it's not the game to be omitting such an important player.

I'd tell both the Mac's, J and T, to lift their games this week to finals standard or face the prospect of being dropped for the last round.....that should see them get back on track. If not, they miss out. Players have to know they are not safe playing mediocre footy this close to the finals.....no matter who they are or how good they've been in the past.

I do however, have faith that they will both deliver when it counts.....but time will tell.....and that time is next week against the Magpies.

My guess is that Tmac is safe as it's too late to debut Gould this close to the finals but Jmac's position is not guaranteed as we have others who can play his role. He definitely has some work to do.

I would drop Clarke before Jmac. I'm not sure what the problem is with Jmac. His game at present is passable, but well off his best. I don't know if we on RWO know enough to make the call on him. Leave this one to the MC.

I'm not sure if Clarke offers enough defensively to cover his skill level deficiencies. One positive for him is that Collingwood will play out the game till the end and we know Clarke can run out games with the best of them. Campbell, Ronke or Cunningham would all offer a better skill set and are fit enough to play a full game. An idea would be to bring in Cunningham in our defence and shift Fox to a defensive forward roll. Fox is at about the same aerobic level as Clarke and quicker and more skillful.

I've been wanting to see Gould come into the senior side, but now is not the time for debutantes. I think Tmac will recover from the North game. Everything went perfectly well for Larkey and Rampe did no better when played on him. Just one of those days.

Yep, good to see the photo 'scandal' has not affected his excellent form.

LOL. You're completely obsessed. Were there any other coaches votes allocated?
