I just marvel how good they are.
Haven’t seen a team do that to us for a very long time. They were clearly at a different level to us.

I’m very concerned about the mental hangover on the club of an annihilation like that.

It’s going to take a huge effort from the coaches, psychs etc to get over this and bounce back next year.

Let’s see just how resilient the players are?

With the benefit of hindsight it would have been better to have lost last week.

I think we totally overachieved this year.

I’m travelling through the city and have seen some random fans - one man with his son agrees - next year bigger and better - bloods spirit folks - we’ll be back !

The best team won today, and they were the best team by a long way. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? We are a young team and we will just have to improve if we want to win premierships.

At least we go into next season not having to worry about a premiership hangover!
Yes, but now Mad Monday might be a bitter, twisted and self harming affair. So the hangover from that might last a while.

Do you really mean that Wolfy or is it the disappointment of a poor match?

Nonsense. Thrashing around wildly like you have been doing is the easy way out. The tougher, but ultimately more productive, route is thinking carefully about how the team can be improved.

I stole this from another post... Hopefully it gives some perspective about the Swans future... and how much this Cats team was frontloaded with cap manipulation...

No....just stop being so faux tough negative!

You obviously get great joy from kicking someone when they're down just because you're not handling your disappointment very well.....so, in the future you can look back on this thread with much pride in your latent immaturity.

But from what I heard on radio and looking at the stats Robbie Fox or Warner were our best.

Kudos to Fox for lifting himself up into the game on one of the best players in the League.
Yes, I thought Fox and Warner were our best.

+1 it’s very painful to have spent an obscene amount of $$ to be at the MCG to experience that.

But throwing the toys out isn’t the answer.

Going to be s very long off-season for those 23 players though.

I think it fair to say Buddy has problems handling the pressure of Finals football. He was woeful today, woeful against Melbourne, Handy game against Collingwood without being in our best. Played a good 2014 GF but there has been many poor efforts in finals time.

Yes, I have started very clearly that an insipid and disgraceful performance requires change.

It now appears 2 injured players were taken into the game - bad coaching.

Team not ready to play and compete - bad coaching.

Getting embarrassed in 2 GF's - bad coaching

Seems to be something of a trend, do you need some more help spotting it.

Now that I am starting to calm down, there are a few things to consider that would have influenced that outcome.
                          1. One day less to recover.
2.A hard game vs an easy game in the preliminary.
                          3. Playing 2 injured players
                          4. Lack of physical presence in the middle.
                          5. Young team.
                          6. My opinion only, but I thought there was a lack of creative moves to address the structural issues during the game.

We needed Ladhams out there today for a different look in the midfield etc. Reid probably would have been rested if Ladhams hadn’t been suspended.

Fox was everywhere today. Rowbottom and Warner played well too.

I think Gulden, Blakey, McInerney, Heeney were way under their best today.

Thought I saw Paddy take a CBA bounce and he got a goal.

Our forwards were let down by the defence and midfield not getting the ball into the inside 50 anywhere near as many times as Geelong.

Yet again you miss the point, if the team had played hard and tough I would have been the first to commiserate and congratulate them for a great year.

If your not going to get angry and demand change when that slop is served up when are you. The problem for all those defending the status quo is that it isnt like this has happened before is it! So last time we were all calm and rational and out a protective arm around everyone, so tell me how has that worked out so far.

A willingness to compete is non-negotiable every time, its totally unacceptable it wasnt today.

Special kudos to Chad and Fox today. Also thought Paps, Rowie and one or two others fought it out.

Oh, and Geelong’s sub in Parfitt had more possessions and goals than Rohan so there’s that.
Going into the game, my biggest nightmare was Gary winning the Norm Smith. Obviously it didn't enter my head, that we would get a thrashing of such nightmarish proportions.
