It started 9.15am. It seemed to be 4 quarters of roughly 15 minutes. Probably 75% of our list played. Shortage of tall forwards meant that Francis(red) and Edwards(green) both played full forward for the whole game.

Red team seemed to have the senior forwards and senior back line with other players occasionally switched in. The midfields was more even. Green team midfield had Parker, Mills, Gulden, Mcinerney and Campbell.

Positionally Sheldrick played the whole game in midfield. And Caleb Mitchell played in defence often marking Hayward (presumably because we had too many other wingers available)

Awesome insights bloodspirit, Liz and Sean. I feel blessed reading three accounts! I'm looking forward to seeing how Campbell, Gould and Sheldrick go this year.

From the left: Magor, HHK (I think), Warner, Konstanty, Sheldrick, Mitchell (I think), Roberts, Vickery (I think), Rankin, Edwards. That's ten. Not sure if your nine excluded the already identified Warner. Or if one of your fingers has fallen off.

I haven't seen a proper team photo, only the photo of the photo-process that someone linked a few posts earlier. In that picture I count 40 players (including an anonymous head at the very right end of the seated row that I guess is Gulden).

Players not in the picture of 40 are the already-identified Chad, plus Clarke, Gould and Wicks.

I didn't see Clarke at training yesterday, but I had him down as a player who might have been rendered less identifiable by a cap. Gould and Wicks were both there, albeit neither taking part in the match simulation.

There's probably no reason to be concerned over player absences until we hear that there is - all clubs are probably sending anyone home for a few days who turns up with a runny nose.

Chad and Clarke are missing, list has 44 players, 42 in the photo. All good fun :-)

We might be looking at different photos - see my comments in the post just above. The players I can see at the ends of the second row from the top are Francis (LH) and Melican (RH).

I originally thought that may be it, AG, but then there were pics on the Swans' socials today from training - including Chad in all his bleached glory.

Maybe it was more a case of our dearly departed friend The Bloods having kidnapped him briefly.

Longmire said in an interview in The Age that Buddy battled a tight calf over Christmas and has been building up his workload. So that explains why he hasn't been participating in the various training drills.
