I've been watching most of the last quarter, and it's quite enjoyable when we're not behind.
Hall-Kahan's been great in the last. Will he be making a debut soon?
And there's the siren, a 21-point win."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

This. Makes a big difference when you add Clarke to Warner and Stephens in the middle. And Roberts in the second half. Plus Wicks to pounce on opportunities in the forward line.
I’ll write some more observations later.Comment

With the selection story on the Swans site talking up the VFL form of Wicks, I was reminded to have a look at the coaches votes. He did pretty well with four votes.
10 Ryan Clarke (SS)
7 Thomson Dow (RIC)
4 Sam Wicks (SS)
3 James Trezise (RIC)
3 Dylan Stephens (SS)
3 Corey Warner (SS)
I suppose that the ten votes for Clarke means that he's a reasonable chance of being the sub.Comment

There’s no point bringing either Clarke or Wicks back to the seniors, irrespective of how they go in our VFL team- they are simply not part of our future. Clarke tries his heart out but this is his level. Wicks? Please let’s not even go there. With the selection story on the Swans site talking up the VFL form of Wicks, I was reminded to have a look at the coaches votes. He did pretty well with four votes.

Wicks has been picked. Clarke I agree with. I can not understand why Rankin is not in the emergency list. I thought he was more value than any of the guys who got coaches votes

The problem with Rankin is that he turns the ball over too much. I really like the rest of his game. Like Stephens, he came with a reputation of being a good kick. Even when he has time and space, he can miss and easy target. Except for that, he plays a lot like Errol.Comment

Not sure where the Errol comparison is coming from? But with Lloyd out, I thought he was a smokey for tonight's team, as like Lloyd, his main priority seems to be to provide an option when coming out of defence. But as you point out, some of his missed targets are inexplicably bad, so we probably don't want to risk that at AFL level.
Other than that, I think he's improved a fair bit. Early in the season, I had him as an almost certain delist, but I now think he's a chance of another contract. Some of his defensive efforts are really good, he's involved more, can make good decisions and he seems to have taken on some sort of leadership role in a very inexperienced side.Comment

Good to hear (except the poor disposal). I haven't seen a lot of the ressies of late so good to hear that Rankin is starting to have a bit of an impact! He needed to as it seems we haven't really drafted a decent half back of late from Matty Ling onwards!
