It is only one with the sub to be fair (or maybe arguably 1.5 - given sub would be factored in somewhat I suspect). But over the last 3 weeks - we were very flat against the Hawks in the last (yes the game was well won but we could of absolutely put them to the sword), we fell in a hole against Melbourne, and coughed up almost a 3 goal lead tonight. I think the question is not entirely unreasonable.

No AA and no Jonas for the minutes that the two Macs missed snd port would have lost by 6 goals

Anyone who says umpiring doesn't influence games and it all works out in the end is a bona fide imbecile. We may have had more frees in total but it's how and when you get them that counts. We were violated.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Which was made more telling with the introduction of a fresh sub, Byrne-Jones, in the final quarter, whose late touches in the forward line probably won the game for them.

We have plenty of issues, there goes top 4. Horse again showing his inability to prepare a side.... such a waste of such a good list.

Next week we find out where the selectors rate Gould. If he can't get a game with the Macs out he never will.

                Bye Cunningham

Wonder how many Vics clubs coming for Amartey and his 5 possessions

He certainly added plenty of run. But their midfield pantsed out midfield late in terms of work-rate. Partially understandable, but disappointing too.

A very frustrating evening indeed and one I fear we will rue later on in the season (but that is making a big assumption -> I haven't seen anywhere near enough quality play from our team yet to suggest we will be anywhere near it come September).

Yes but they are not gut runners. But the two injuries definitely hurt - will be interesting to see who comes in next week - you'd imagine Gould and Francis

Amartey could always rely on Buddy spoiling his mark. Buddy missed from 15 meters out in the 3rd quarter and was pretty useless the whole game. He has to be dropped next week. His days are over.

If only our coaching staff realize that Buddy is the reason we lost this game, and the reason we will lose many others, then the loss is worth it.

He brings nothing to the team except drawing long bombs to be intercepted by his opponent. He gave away 4 frees to Aliir and allowed Aliir to completely dominate our forward line.

We cannot play our game plan with Buddy in the side. He was one of the greatest, but it's over.

The decision now is whether we let Buddy continue to embarrass himself, or let him quietly walk into the sunset. His job now should be to help our young players in the VFL.

Out buddy... he is nothing short of a liabilty now. Definitely went a year too long. Package him up with horse for a 5th rd pick.

Love your optimism but I'm afraid that we may well be haunted by the GF....we don't look a shadow of the team we were last year. Tough times ahead....happy to be proven wrong.

I have a gifted members seat waiting for me at GMHBA Stadium for the Geelong game in a few weeks....not sure I want to go now.
