Sorry waswan, perhaps I’m misunderstanding you but your arguments don’t seem consistent. It seems like you want some players playing full time mid from the get go like Serong and Green but others should not like Stephens and Ollie.

The Swans have shown that they will play young players in the mids (Rowbottom, Warner, Gulden) while also playing their young players in the forwards or backs (Mills, Campbell, Heeney, Blakey). I guess you are perhaps unhappy with our success rate in choosing which players should play where????

I honestly don’t get your overall argument other than you are clearly unhappy with how we have been managed and wish that we were managed like other supremely successful clubs like North Melbourne (Sheezel), Fremantle (Serong), or GWS (Green).

If we take kids top ten as mids, play them as mids and don't make them play a 4 yr apprenticeship in another position.
If they arent upto it move them on but before that give them a full crack without a lead on.

If a player finally makes it as a mid to All Australian level like Mills, leave him as a mid.

Hewitt was a good example of a player made to tag but when we just let him play he was 25 possessions with his eyes closed

Hewitt was a very good player for us as a defensive midfielder. Offensively, his kicking and disposals are not very penetrating or creative. Plays similar role at Carlton.

Im saying give Stephens a ball chasing chance in the mids but he seems more likely to be a defender similar to Ollie.

If we are talking Campbell vs Stephens, 100% put Stephens in defence

Hewett's disposals are generally good though. His handball and kicking are rated well. The games where he is best are those that allow him to play a more offensive role
