I really liked JMac's game tonight. His energy didn't drop. Thought he was in everything.

Blakey was huge, especially in the last quarter. Great hands and dash.

Hayden presented well. Took some nice clunks.

Heeney was great on Cripps and I like him involved in the middle.
Yes I missed JMac in my comments. Seems something has got him going again after a long period of below average form. We need him firing as he gives a third outlet alongside Campbell and Blakey to give run and carry from half back. Very happy to see him finding some form.

It's a long way back sure - and we are yet to beat anyone of note, but I'd love to think our lucky escape last week and the great effort tonight might form a turning point in our season.

    Cheer cheer!

Terrific effort across the board. Thought Blakey was magnificent.
Pleasantly surprised by the way Melican and Wicks fitted in and made strong contributions.

After a lifetime of watching the game, I have no idea what the rules are. I just hope the umpires points his arm in the right direction and we get the ball.

          Fantastic.

Blakey just brilliant. No knock on Chad, who was awesome, but Blakey BOG for me. The best compliment I can pay him is it was a Rampe style game.

My man McInerney was back to his best. Parker’s last month when we’ve been struggling has been fantastic. Fox = big tick. And Harry Cunningham had his best game of the year, as did Hayward. And I’ve always said, the Wicks of early 21 was hugely important to us. We saw that tonight.

And big kudos to Horse. Selecting Melican freed up Blakey. Parks and Heeney, who was superb, did a number on Cripps. Using Heeney and Paps through the midfield.

And once again, my man Hayden McLean. He’s never gonna be a star. But gee he has a go and does his things well. I love it.

Looked like it to me. Either that or he had the biggest nostril purge known to humanity.

So does McInerney know you are also crushing on McLean?

Just heard the Lizard call Francis Franga on the telly. Guess it fits. Thought Francis played well in the last too. Good intercepts from playing in front.

                  Melican solid
Mclean Huge, ran his guts out to be the option down the line
Heeney a class above on the inside, tackling deadly and super clean hands, very underated skill.
                  Chad a line breaker
                  Blakey a superstar
                  Fox is solid
                  JMAc best in a while
                  Heaps others were very good

                  A bit to work with
We need to lower the eyes a bit going fwd or at least kick to advantage or at least make sure its a deep entry
Marks inside 40m are shots at goal, end of story.

Yep, he had improved significantly since his first game in red and white

That was pure guts and determination along with some great coaching moves.

Wicks very good too probably lets Heeney and Paps go up the ground more

I don’t know, he will cope. I’m sure McInerney’s confidence will survive. And if he needs a cuddle, I’m available ????

McLean's ground game competitiveness has improved out of sight. Has a much bigger bag of tricks now.

Francis improving despite the odd clanger.

The only thing wrong with Melican as a player is his dodgy hamstring.

Florent looks flat. The bye might be just the trick for him.

Will never, ever forget that the club we beat tonight hovered over us like vultures in the early 90s, waiting for us to die so they could move into the Sydney market.

Carlton's been a grubby, grubby club for decades and to beat them is just blissful!

Amen to that. Sometimes I almost feel sorry for them, but then I remember what they did to us. I will never forget nor forgive. They can rot in purgatory forever in a day if you ask me!
