Anyone know the size of the crowd tonight? Looked like a pretty good turnout!

Not sure about Ruben Copper (saw the back of someone’s head that looked like him height-wise but it’s been a few years since I’ve seen met and I think he wound have been a little more aged by now

Tony Armstrong was overseas so wasn’t. Sadly Elkin Reilly passed a few years ago so he wasn’t either. Did not see Elijah Taylor (probably understandably), and sadly Goodsey.

I’ll have another look at the replay to see if I can spot others.
Thanks Go. And thanks for reminding me of Thorpe - there was an intriguing cat. Only played a few games but I still remember the way he moved - I wouldn't say it was graceful but he was all shimmy. Shame he didn't make it because he really had something.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Lets not forget the improved form of Hickey. I thought he had a huge influence on centre clearances. Ran all night.

Centre clearances: it just shows what happens when they go straight at the ball. When the ball hit the ground we pounced. When they got possession there, we were onto them in a flash.

They told us at three quarter time. I think it was around 36k. It probably tells you on the match report.

AG was at the unveiling of his wonderful sculpture today and there is an interview with him on Swans website. It was said that Adam’s third child has just arrived so I suspect Adam was
home supporting Natalie and looking after the first two little tackers.

It's amazing how much of a difference winning makes. We may have scraped in last week, but they looked so much better tonight.

Thought Wicks looked sharp and was on target, last year he couldn't hit a barn door. I wonder if that was the root of all his problems?

Very happy with the Heeney to Cripps move. I also think dropping Stephens and moving Gulden to the wing seems to have improved McInerney's game, so I think there's been a change of role for him too - more offensively involved I think?

Lewis Melican (who is only 26 btw!) made a huge difference freeing up the Lizard. I can't quite believe he didn't get the medal. Together with Francis and Fox doing a pretty good job under the circumstances. If the Great Dane comes back after the bye (and that appears a certainty barring any accidents) then either he or Fox plays small I guess. Happy for them to drop Clarke and reshuffle a little. Maybe Ollie plays closer to the action?

Is that our best win of the year?

                Blakey woz robbed!

And watching him tonight I thought Spider-Man would be a better nickname than Lizard!

Great coaching by horse. He just shuffled around our key defenders of Melican, Francis and Fox on the Carlton forwards until the right combination clicked

                  Melican looked good

                    Helpful last night

If we lost Warner, Blakey, Parker etc through out the game……would have been tough to get the win

                    INJURIES
                    Sydney: Nil
Carlton: Hewett (concussion), Newman (hamstring), Hollands (shoulder), Cripps (ankle)
"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Yes, hard and clean, got better and better as the game went on and was vital in the last. Mature performance.

Heeney was sensational. Played with serious power. Game high clearances (7) and contested possessions (14) and 10 tackles.

As for the "heaps others", easy to overlook Wicks but he really added a lot. Also Francis was surprisingly good. Has very nice hands (despite dropping one he should have swallowed).
Agree with all that. As someone else said, as well as being hard and athletic, Fox is an excellent decision maker. He's been one of our best players over the last year and a half, and has led the decimated backline this year.

                          Wicks made a real impact.

                            Was a great win

Blakey is exciting to watch when he goes on his runs , really breaks the game open.

Melican I had written this guy off , he was more than serviceable and helped free up Blakey

Wicks great return his pressure adds something to our forward mix and kicking goals is a bonus

Heeney around the stoppages was a master stroke . Loved his defensive work on Cripps and he seemed to love the freedom of being around the ball .

Hickey good to have the big fella back , made a few blues but we just look so better with him on the park.

Hayward took some telling one on one marks his work rate was huge

Francis took some nice intercept marks late . If we can get Rampe back this will free him up to play that interceptor roll .

Mcandrew his tap to Papley was sublime for a great centre takeaway but for most centre bounces didn’t seem to jump into Pitonet like I think he should . Needs a good summer in the gym for the around the ground work . But he has come on leaps and bounds and probably deserves a few more games till Hickey reaches full fitness

Yep. Hopefully his head's ok after being slammed into the ground in that slinging tackle.
