Not a huge fan of longmire but that was on the players, couldnt handle the pressure
    smashed around the contest.

Campbell is clean, Heeney is usually clean, there is a big difference in the entry when a clean pickup is involved, watch Heeney against Carlton.
Rowy is good, but even he is not clean enough at clearance.

Even Wicks and Clarke get a pass, they are their for fwd pressure, not to defend shallow fwd entry dump kicks outnumbered by 2 defenders.

Wicks ironically missed the goal from the handball Warner should have kicked, love him but needs to pick his times, gets caught too often.

The stats man must be Ramps mate, how he got 20 touches ill never know.

Hickey is done, has the Cal Sinclair role next year in the 2s.

Time to take a Mulligan on this season, players out for surgery early, try promising youngsters, grab better draft picks, back early to pre season, relaunch in 2024.

A few who played tonight are not in our next flag side.

Enjoy what should be a better VFL performance tomorrow

A few bonuses. That’s Campbell’s best game. He’s popping and gonna be a gun. Sheldrick tick. Same for Ollie and Rowie.

The downside: our kicks inside 50 continue to kill us. Clarke, and I say this with no malice, but the extra half second he takes to make a decision is lethal and hurts. He did his job last year in a team in peak synch, but no more please.

I’m also bothered by Lloyd’s form. Possessions, yes. Impact, no. And we love Chad, and he was good if not great tonight, but if he has one thing to learn, it’s discerning between the freedom to take the game on inside d50 vs elsewhere. That kick in the last quarter where he cleared to Clarke with a cute kick and not to his advantage, and it got turned over for the Higgins goal, was yuk.
Campbell is having a great year. The kid is an absolute gun - going to be every bit as influential as Gulden (I've said that all along), just taking longer to grow at AFL level. Just like Mills, he is excelling in a part of the ground he didn't play as a junior - give it a few years and he will be an utter gun in the midfield. Truly excited to see Gulden and Campbell hopefully become 300 gamers over time, as they will both be superstars.

Very happy with what Sheldrick was able to do, given the chance to play more in a natural role for him. Big tick and a good step forward.

It annoys me that some people seem to take the first opportunity to lay the boot into Longmire without any other analysis. It almost seems like some people are hoping that we lose so that they can be correct about Longmire being past it.
Longmire is the HeadCiach then he is responsible for the @@@@e disposal. If the practice under pressure this would not happen. I have never seen a pressure session in the time I have been going to training. Not one.

Sheldrick looked great as a promising inside mid. Hard as nails for a 19yo.

St Kilda were woeful with disposal as well for most of the night. Do you blame your mate Ross?

But he can't be missing easy goals from 25 metres out dead in front playing as a small forward, especially when his around the ground kicking is average at best.

I like him, but I really don't think he is good enough. Would love to be proved wrong, but like Clarke, just a holding role in the team until we find someone better (either short term or long term). Same with Francis - who does a lot right, but then does some things really, really badly.
Francis goes to sleep and finds his opponent lining up for a goal. Mind you the 3 frees King got, onl one was a real free. Cameniti is a diver. He has more diving credits than Matthew Mitcham

True but Saints weren't much better.

One thing I can not understand is the inconsistency of our players? Heeney was really good last week and barely saw him tonight. Papley destroyed Richmond but has hardly been seen since. Ollie Florent was great tonight, next week he will barely get a touch. If the pattern continues. Hayward had another disappointing game. If they want to trade him to an Adelaide side, I am happy with that.
