I honestly don't know how much longer I can watch this sport. The umpiring is utterly destroying it.

This is not entirely the fault of the umpires - the ludicrous over-complication of the rules in the last 20 years, with so much depending on subjective judgement of subjective player intention, is a major contributor. But that said, the actual umpiring is awful as well, even in things that should be clear and simple.

And I'd like to know why the "noise of affirmation" works everywhere except the SCG.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

You speak as if this is some sort of video game where Longmire makes moves via his joystick.

Footy is more fun when the score doesn't matter. We're doing well against Brisbane and their umpires, who are putting in a great performance. The game was bogging down in our forward 50; kudos to the umps for handing the ball back to Brisbane and opening the game up.

Nice that Wicks will miss a few games and we may not see him again this year.

By the way I thought the sort of game we played in the first only lacked one thing. The ability to put a very decent score on the board. We should have had 4 more goals from our entries.

Then we control the ball for 15 minutes of the third in our forward zone but can't convert. Why? Because our players never bothered to lower the eyes and hit a target. Instead we constantly just bombed the BB all in, definitely not to our forwards advantage.

They need to stop bombing it long to Buddy in the 2nd half.

I thought the bulk of the frees were there, but the call against Rampe was inexplicable and Robertson should have been called when Blakey nabbed him. That he fell over is hardly an excuse for failing to dispose of it.

That umpire number 12 I am sure has had a bet on this game. He took Lions at 30 points I reckon

It certainly was. The one they missed was just as telling. The push on Warner was the reason he could not compete. Two hands in the back is still a free as far as I know

That one Blakey should have got came a minute or two after Rowbottom got called in a flash through the middle.

Don’t mind if they’re called (I’d much prefer fewer frees each way) but just some consistency please.

I know. Did Robertson have prior opportunity? Obviously. Was he tackled? Obviously. Did he get a legal disposal away? Obviously not. So why couldn't one of the four umpires work it out that it was a free?

Are we saying the Lloyd kick that took a huge deflection was correctly paid as insufficient intent?

Blakey held in that passage. Nah, play on
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.
