Agree about his footy smarts. Takes ages to make a decision with ball in hand. Can kick a goal though.

pretty clear what type of game we need to shape vs GWS
We can not let GWS off the chain. They have more strike power than us right now.
If we want half a chance of winning this game we have to give ourselves the best chance of interrupting the flow in every single quarter.
We need to turn this into a wrestle and have a high weighting of these types of players ie Wicks, Parker, Rowbottom, Clarke in there fighting for the contested footy"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Are you referring to Wilbur? His possessions may be low but he has a presence and ability. Not the case with Ryan, unfortunately. However, he may be asked to do a job on Whitfield and if so, it may be worthwhile. It looks like we are on the defensive though. Would rather have brought in HHK for J Mac to attack them- attacking can sometimes be the best defense!Comment

Interesting that the GWS-Swans game is the closest this week according to the modellers, currently 52% probability of a GWS win.

Amazing lack of footy knowledge on display here.
Hawks almost beat GWS by tagging Kelly. We have one of the best taggers in the business: Clarke.
101. Even if the tag doesn't work, negating Coniglio or Whitfield are valid plan B's. Clarke would almost be first selected this week.Comment

Very harsh on Clarke here. The guy is dependable, not prone to doing silly stuff and pops up with the odd goal. I totally
understand why he gets picked. The GWS player that needs to be stopped besides Toby is Coniglio. He has been in brilliant form
all year and barely gets a mention these days.Comment

Not that fussed about the Clarke selection, although I'd prefer to give Stephens a chance
The only thing that bugs me about him is that his disposal and footy smarts are so bad. The amount of time it takes for him to get his boot to ball is so slow, and I don't understand how anyone can reach AFL level without being able to handball properly.Comment

I reckon we will keep Stephens
We are short on outside players
If Gulden and or BJ go down we are struggling with only Warner Junior and Stephens really
At $350k pa for two years I suspect he might not be matched unless a North or GC Suns attack"be tough, only when it gets tough"

That’s very Homebush-centric of you Barry. It’s a bit of a trip from London, otherwise I’d be there.Comment
