Can’t over turn result as there was still time left in the game! Who’s to say we wouldn’t have gone and kicked a goal from the bounce?
Dermie is such a knob. Please stfu.

Mind you, the way we fell apart in that last quarter was as bad as I’ve seen. Completely bottled it. Half the team didn’t touch the ball in the final quarter. We simply got away with one we deserved to lose.

Is it possible that the AFL can overturn the outcome of the game...re the not a goal decision?

        No.

        If:
        - Bulldogs beat West Coast tomorrow and Geelong next week; and
        - Giants beat Carlton next week; and
        - we lose to Melbourne next week,
        then we miss finals.

I'm still listening to the ABC Radio commentary and they, nor any of the Adelaide players interviewed have even mentioned the point call being controversial.

Nope. Well, they're a law unto themselves and do break their own rules sometimes (like when they banned us from trading players because they were sad) but i doubt they'd step in to contradict a decision by an umpire.

And the ABC Radio votes are Gulden - 3 votes, Blakey - 2 and Milera - 1.

Nope. Surely not if there’s still time on the clock. Decision stands. They’ll come out with a statement of some sort, but can’t see more happening.

That would be absurd. On-field decisions aren't adjudicated after the game. Also, it may have been the wrong call, but there was still a minute to go.

That’s pretty weird given it is probably going to be one of the most controversial things of the year.

I thought all goals were reviewed upstairs.

Goals are, but behinds-that-might-have-been-goals are not reviewed automatically. Only if the umpires call for a review. Swans craftily kicked in quickly.

Dermie and his mates are fixated on the idea it hit the padding. The vision suggests that's unlikely, but it's entirely possible from the vision I've seen that the point of the ball hit the post above the padding. I'm not sure where the fixation on the padding comes from. The goal umpire doesn't make his decision based on the TV coverage, but on what he sees from where he stands.

Yeah, but it was ruled a behind. I don't think I've ever seen a behind replaced by a goal based on an upstairs decision without a goal review.

Correct. I was surprised the goal umpire didn't call for a review.
