Let’s say the umps missed that throw from Errol in the third quarter, that gave Adelaide a goal, and it was instrumental in the margin. Should we overturn the result then? Of course not.

I posted on here last week that Brereton is one of the great morons of footy commentary (unless he’s talking forward craft). His babble last night after the match, and that of his co-panellists proves it.

Anyway, I do worry about us walking to next week wounded and undermanned. Paps is clearly unlikely, I’d say McCartin gets a week, Parker looks a bit sore and we were gassed in the last quarter.

Oh, and Mills or Horse, not sure who called the move but putting Mills back at the end, still almost cost us. He’d kept Dawson subdued, but who had the freedom to rip it out of the middle and pump a kick forward for the Rachele goal, literally in a two on one with Mills? The Rat.
One mildly ironic thing about the point call, is that Brereton has probably said more than any other commentator, that goal umpires should back themselves and not slow the game up by relying on goal reviews.

On your last point, that last Dawson clearance followed the Rachele goal, rather than resulted in it. Dawson's thumping clearance resulted in the inside 50 which produced the Campbell out-on-the-full and the Keays behind.

Agree with the point, though. It seemed a set play you can make with a dominant ruck. O'Brien started that centre ball up directly opposite the umpire. He ran across in front the Hickey, facing our goal, and slapped it to an open space into which Dawson was charging. Great play.

It was reflective of O'Brien's dominance in the ruck all game. Hickey was courageous around the ground: 16 possessions, 11 contested, including two big possessions late after the Keays point. However, O'Brien monstered him in the ruck - 49 hit-outs to 21 - the kind of dominance that allows control of clearance.

dermie is against the swans we gave him the "'är..", a bit like Healy we gave it to him as well always rubbushes swans when he calls their game. Dwayn is Dwayn the same crap whenhe calls. Richuto should also not be allowed to do games in adelaide so one eyed. By the way (anm not sure of the player involved) I think in second qrt when the swans player was manhandled over the boundary line wven dwayn thought it should have beena free. It was kickable.

I have been to numerous Swans functions where Healy was involved and clearly supports the Swans. Pretty unfair to say he rubbishes us.

Can anyone identify the reporter who asked the first question at Longmire's press conference last night?

                .
Ah yes, my morning after brain fog. Still, that was almost a McAdam goal and then the Keys shot followed soon after.

The vibe I get from Healy is that he is clearly fond of us but sometimes slants his comments so as not to be seen to be "commentating favourites". I find his commentary nowadays to be dull, lack insight, and full of errors. He used to be much better.

Dermott, on the other hand, loathes us. He tries to hide it by his persistent use of the faux-fond, patronising "Swannies" and by telling us every time he commentates our games that Hayden and Ollie are lovely lads, but as soon as anything controversial arises from our matches, he lays the boots in. Years back, when Hannebery collected Hurley in the head as he turned his body to try and pick up a bobbling ball, he was calling for Hanners to be outed for weeks, claiming the brave thing for Hanners to have done was to go head first into the contest with Hurley. He'd be loving this latest controversy as a chance to stick the boots in again.

I suspect it has roots in his embarrassing season with us, was given a boost when we stole the 2012 premiership from Hawthorn, and went up another notch when we wrenched Buddy away from them. The short, peripheral stint he had several years ago with the Giants probably sprinkled a little more seasoning on top.

Luke Parker was huge for us against Freo - more than a month ago. That was a culmination of a couple of excellent months from him after his quiet start to the season.

Since then he's had almost no impact. I wonder if he's again struggling with some niggle.

I hope he is identified. The question was asked in a very aggressive and disrespectful manner. Completely unprofessional.

First 2 quarters were amazing, held the fort in the third, but that last was horrific

Didnt deserve the win and as someone else noted, it actually felt like a loss

Don’t understand why our last quarters have been so poor this year, our fitness guys need to sharpen up

I do think Hickey is nearly finished but in his defence last night I thought Obrien gor away with continually blocking his run in the centre circle.
Pretty sure you arent allowed to just charge at the man

Can’t agree that we didn’t deserve to win. Obviously that last call helped, but we were fantastic earlier. I loved it (but the final quarter was torture).

Don’t forget that the crows also benefited from some very dodgy calls that helped them get back into the game. It can’t just come down to a bad decision in the last minute. In short, suck on it, Crows.

Concerning that we’ve given up leads in most games this season apart, perhaps, from the first 3 rounds and the debacle vs the Cats in R6 and the other debacle vs Eagles.

The pressure game can be good to watch, but it’s also exhausting. Can’t do much but get fitter and harder if that’s the game plan. As soon as the pressure goes off, most sides have gone bang-bang-bang and scored multiple goals in quick succession and the pressure is back on us to stop it. & we haven’t been good at stopping it.
