We're challenging, and this provides an interesting precedent - the Brent Daniels hit on Jake Lloyd, which likes the Philips one I posted earlier, got careless, high contact, but only medium impact.

Now, the medical report from Adelaide will prove crucial and if he has a fractured cheekbone, it's hard to argue down the impact from high to medium. If he doesn't, then we've got a great show.

Also hard to argue why they didnt do a HIA or if it didnt happen during another incident in the game

At the risk of stirring the pot, it’s also been a pleasure to enjoy deafening silence from those who blame Horse and his assistants for every ill and misfortune afflicting the squad. Kinnear Beatson’s interview last week gave away the fact that many of the team have played this season either underdone or under duress. This makes the effort of playing finals even more praiseworthy.

Then why stir it then? ????

The deafening silence is mainly due to the personal attacks that come out whenever anything negative about the sacred cow (horse) is posted

Funnily enough the players seem to be fair game though which I find bizarre

FWIW I don’t think this season has changed anyone’s opinion regardless of where you sit with regard to the senior coach

I think everyone is fair game, including the coach but people also have the right to disagree....I wouldn't necessarily call these reactions 'personal attacks'.

BTW, seeing our back and forth from last week all got deleted, I will reiterate, I don't have any players 'in my sights' and never have. Not sure where you got that from.

Well said Kafka. There are some who let their emotions get the better of them without out realising how lucky we are to have such a stable and well managed club. We all get carried away at times when things don’t go as planned, but given the difficulties experienced this year has been a monumental effort to turn things around.
Even looking forward to this coming weekend you look at the goal to goal line and look at who is missing from the possible best side at the beginning of the year. The two McCatins, Franklin and Sam Reid are difficult to replace

I'm still reflecting on the Swans being ahead for 1 hour, 8 minutes and 50 seconds to 1 minute and 26 seconds

The second more obvious one is a blatant over the shoulder on McDonald maybe (hard to tell) right on the 50 arc with just seconds remaining. You can even hear one of the commentators say “oh that’s high”.
They are “fruit from the poisoned tree”.

If the Crows had been awarded the goal, then there would be a centre bounce and the ball would not have gotten to the Crows player where it did in the final 20 seconds (in relation to how it got there, who tackled him etc) and same for McDonald being tackled.

I’m not saying it is therefore a free for all and the Crows can get away with murder. I am saying it isn’t a winning argument to discuss those missed frees after the missed awarding of a Crows goal.

We are better off talking about crappy calls against us in the second half that let them get closer and closer to being within a goal of us.

Well, at least our game warranted media attention this round. Just not in the form of a match report.

I'm a little tired of seeing the single screenshot from Fox showing a gap between ball and post. One angle, one point in time, no context, proves nothing. I'm not saying that it did or did not hit the post - I don't know. I do find it striking that the goal umpire called it immediately and confidently. I've wondered, even looking at a GIF on the SMH website, if the ball's rotation might have allowed it to brush the back of the padding. But again - I don't know. Anyway, the pundits and media outrage machine have spoken, so I guess that's that.

As for the game: terrific first 3 quarters, but they really ran out of legs in the fourth. I thought Francis forward was interesting and he even had a turn of speed at times that I haven't really seen at the back. Pretty solid contributions from most of the usual suspects too.

I think they would be happy with that, as opposed to trying to get into 2nd for a home final and end up on the road.

They have no incentive to win if Pies win.

Sunday squad will be full of surprises id say, can see Gawn, May not playing and maybe Trac

They cant finish below a 4th placed double chance
But can't Melbourne finish 2nd if they win and both Brisbane and Port Adelaide lose? Either way they'll know by the start of our game.

If it wasn't for Campbell (?) kicking it on the full, the post controversy wouldn't have happened ????.

Don’t blame Campbell as he was trying to clear the ball downfield as far as he could. If we had been paid a couple of frees leading up to that kick, especially the free paid to Dawson when it should have been holding the ball against him, then this whole fiasco wouldn’t have happened, We definitely dodged a bullet but I guess Khama catches up with everyone eg Tippett transfer and the Dawson defection, not to mention the times we were screwed by the AFL re Buddy’s signing and the restrictions placed on us with regards transfers and not to mention the abolition of cola. Yes The Crows were hard done by but we deserved a bit of luck going our way.
