1 vote for Errol’s performance in the last round needs a royal inquiry. And to give Viney the 3 votes is puzzling

We've got a taste of the future with our Errol polling 22 votes in the last 10 rounds of the season.
30 plus votes and taking home Charlie next year?"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Glad that Neale came over the top, so we won't stew over the votes from that game. Though I thought Bontempelli deserved to win.
To put Errol's votes in perspective, when Goodsey won his two he polled 22 votes and 26 votes. Paul Kelly won his polling 20 votes.
Things have changed, with votes getting more and more concentrated with midfielders, but still a mighty effort for Errol.Comment

Might depend on Chad. He clearly stands out to the umpires too. If they both have excellent seasons in the same year they'll take votes from each other.Comment

Scratching my head a little at 1 vote for a 42-possession 2-goal game, but Brownlow votes tend to favour the winning side so the zero for Petracca probably more perplexing.
But anyway - good on the young bloke, a fantastic result. Can't wait to see him (and the rest of them) go round again next year.Comment

The naysayers were right. A couple of months ago I made the suggestion that Gulden might do a Skilton and win a Brownlow in the year he turned 21 - for a little while there, I was feeling excessively chuffed.
A wonderful season from the lad all the same.Comment

The thing I don't like about the Brownlow these days is that the votes are less evenly distributed than
they used to be. I get the midfielder bias but it's as if Neale, Bontempelli etc are the only midfielders in
their team. And the guy who is probably the best midfielder in the comp, or at least in the best three
is Tom Green. And he came equal 20th.
Were there really 12 players this year that deserved more votes than Paul Kelly did when he won? Nope.
Sorry I know everyone is excited about Gulden doing so well but the vote totals are a bit silly these
days.Comment

Ha. I passed out on the coach so missed all the excitement of him (and my bet) getting so near, yet so far. Sounded like a blast to watch.
But good on him. As Liz said, I don’t think the contrast between the two halves of his season was that wide, but a bit like Chad last year, he really got on a roll in the second half of the year. What a season he’s had and touch lots of wood, what a player he will be.
Also, a nice reminder that we at times marked Chad hard on here, but I do think he had a pretty good year - if not at the same stellar, consistent heights as last year.

It’s so boring that everything tilts towards midfielders for the Brownlow
Doesn’t really acknowledge the impact of players in other positions does it"be tough, only when it gets tough"
