That was bloody delicious.
Great start to the season - I seriously thought we might go zip and 2 after the formal practice game, but we haven't missed a cog so far.
A long way to go - but strap in boys and girls, this year has every mark of being something potentially very special!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

That was an absolute smacking of last year’s Premiers. The group that’s grown together, topped up with a supreme ruckman, is coming of age. Awesome, just awesome.

The cold, hard arithmetic of footy is wins, and we just put two on against sides we will be competing against at end of year for spots in top four and top eight. It is a huge start.
You could also see the benefit of a huge preseason. The running power offensively and defensively was elite. Isaac is exhibit A in that but hardly alone.
I’d probably give Issac three votes, but Chad could grab them too. Errol did Errol things and chuffed to see McDonald bang through four.
Tom McCartin is just unbelievable, and Melican’s first half was terrific. A couple of sneaky good games from McInerney, Fox and Roberts. They all did a lot right both sides of the ball.
One other thing. Nick Daicos gets a lot of attention but Josh can be lethal. Hard to tell from the TV who sat on him all night, and it looked at times like we rolled a few players across him but it was great coaching to target him.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

A very comprehensive win over a good side albeit slightly out of form. Slightly disappointing to let the few cheap goals in the last few minutes but it’s a long season ahead so no issue with the pressure dropping with the game won.
Big couple of weeks with some high profile players to come back bodes well this year.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

There are some big ups and downs to come of course, but competition for spots is going to be very, very hot, and good players are going to miss out.
The ingredients are all coming together nicely - I had said for a long while the broad obvious point where we would start to peak as a group could be 2024. 2022 came very early, but this year already feels like we can take a substantial step up further from here.
Great shout to call out the two talls down back. So great to see Melican looking confident in his body - I hope it can long continue. And Tom just keeps on being Tom."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
