Big win versus Pies, at the MCG, on flag unfurling night. Doesn't get much better than that. I'll even forgive them the junk time goals

Great to see everyone backing up after last week and many lifted their game too. Melican and Roberts really making the most of their opportunities, Amartey & McDonald much more confident this week, McCartin formidable!

There will be (half) jokes about how Parker, Adams and even Mills get back in at this rate. Though as Longmire said afterwards, those things tend to take care of themselves, I guess he was alluding to form and injuries.

AFL FB page going off about the commentators’ bias and relentless focus on Collingwood. Pretty much all the non-Pies aligned fans are sick of it.

I really feel sorry for Fox Footy and the Herald Sun - surely they have a few more 'highlights' of last year ready to roll?

On Nick Daicos - he finds the ball well and is very well balanced - a good to great player. But he reminds me of Robert Harvey - gets it a lot but not that damaging like say Diesel Williams.

to coin a phrase from the Masters Let the tradition continue, second time we have upset the pies raising of p/ship flag with a great win.

              Also:
              - shout out to Melican, who's getting the most out of himself;
              - McCartin is an elite backman
              - Roberts has already taken Lloyd's spot - another composed game
              - Rowbottom: 13 tackles!
I will make the call now: The only 2 things that will stop us from winning the flag - 1. A team on the other side of the city called GWS Giants 2. Gil M returns to the top AFL job and organises his henchmen (umpires) to attack us like they did in 2016 GF.

And, again, we've triumphed over a highly rated team early in the round so we can sit back, relax and watch the rest of the games and enjoy them!

Yes, smashing Collingwood on the night they unfurl their flag is magnificent. Life is good! Very good!

Really enjoyable game, I don’t think you good play much better (apart from goal kicking lol)

Imagine over 40K crowd at Victoria Park Sandridge!

McCartin was huge last night - hopefully he keeps going like that.

                        What an amazing win!

Rowbottoms best game ever. Heeney needs to be permanently in the midfield, is a gun.

Pleased to see Melican start to play well.

Couldn’t love Robbie Fox anymore either. Heart and soul player.

It was a hole of a ground, wasn't it FL? Always jam packed with ferals and it didn't matter where you stood - you were outnumbered! One of my most memorable South Melbourne wins was there, though. In 1977, Graham Teasdale beat Collingwood on his own!

Am I the only person thinking Chad is slowly turning into Dusty Mk II. Quite a similar playing style, physical, a little arrogant, and
he's even starting to look like him, just without the tatts.

Hope he stays without the tatts KT. But yes - he has a very similar playing style to Dusty. He can have all the arrogance that he wants when he walks the walk and gets the job done.

I just love the great mix of styles in our midfield group. Much like back in the day when you had the rough and tumble of Kirky and Bolton, mixed with the silky skills of Goodes, grunt work of O'Keefe etc. A great mix of players in there now to watch and enjoy.

Yeah, it's a good comparison. Both can beat a man with power; maybe Dusty relies(d) more on the massive fend, whereas Chad has elite agility and rapid first steps. He broke tackles and the line several times last night. Also has a thumping boot.
