Or is Hardwick too enamored with all his shiny new toys and arrogant enough to think that raw talent is going to get them far at the elite level where every player is decently talented and every side has a handful of players with just as much talent (and far more experience, hardness and endurance) than the best of his young players?

Hardwick is a cunning operator. He has a five year contract, no need to rush things, year one is expendable, just get some home wins to appease the locals.

So give games and experience before time to all the local bred draftees, it gets good local press. Don't worry about finishing position, helps grab yet another high draft pick.

Early blooded draftees are more advanced for Hardwick's contract years 2-5 helping a rapid rise up the ladder.

He isn't the greatest kick as a general rule but totally disagree with this. More often than not, Harry tries to hit up a short kick. Whilst he is no Nick Smith, I think he has become a really solid, lock down small defender.

If you want to blame someone for dump kicks out, look no further than Tom McCartin.

I'm a big Harry fan, and understand that there will be times when you've just got to get the ball on your boot, but when I compare his composure with ball in hand to his backline colleagues, too often it ends badly.
