Carlton: Marchbank, Carroll, Fantasia and Williams for Cowan, Martin, Cerra and Cottrell.

So Pittonett stays, which makes Fox starting even more likely as they'll have three talls down forward.
The Carlton ins are a bit odd - certainly not like for like as best I can tell. Two defenders and a small forward for a tall forward and two mids (not entirely certain what roles Carroll and Cowan play).

Both make sense, but I'm leaning toward Nico, partly because I think Fox is the better choice for sub.

Bit off thread, but historian Shannon Gill was on Whateley (SEN) yesterday morning & gave full history of our rivalry/hate of Carlton since when club moved to Sydney. Runs for 27 mins. Worth a listen that reignites old wounds and motivation for tonight's game.

Link to podcast and select "know your history with Shannon Gill (16/05/2024)"

Braeden Campbell is the sub. Carlton has Jack Carroll

I should know better than agree with Nico.

Since the forgettable 1993 season (starting in 1994), Sydney's record against Carlton has been pretty good.

Record at end of 1993 season: 65 wins, 6 draws, 120 losses.
Current record: 96 wins, 6 draws, 132 losses.
              Difference: 31 wins, 12 losses.

Sydney's record against Carlton at the SCG in that time: 16 wins, 2 losses.
              The 2 losses:
              (1) round 6, 2011 when Carlton was 4th on the ladder with a 3-1-1 record and 128.5%, and Sydney was 8th with a 2-1-1 record and 97.4%. Carlton won by 16 points. Carlton finished 5th and Sydney 7th.
              (2) round 17, 2019 when Carlton was 17th on the ladder with 3 wins and Sydney was 14th with 6 wins. Carlton won by 7 points. Sydney finished 15th and Carlton finished 16th.

Micky O is talking with Abby on the tele about the Go Foundation. I have to say, that I love Micky O and Goodsey. They both gave us great years of service. Long may they be involved with our club.

Hope we smash the Blues tonight. With my man Luke Parker out again, the message is clear: no one is a walk in. If you can't or don't perform, someone else will.
