Well, this is turning into a shellacking!

I don't dislike Geelong as much as most other Victorian teams but I must say I'm enjoying watching them cop this thrashing.

Can someone refresh my memory? When David King said a few weeks ago that only 3 teams could win the premiership, was Geelong one of his 3?

Could they get a new highest score? I'm imagining Hardwick entering his initials on the scoreboard after the game ends.
Almost there. I hope a thrashing of this magnitude leaves some psychological scars on Geelong.

They need 4 pts in just under 10 minutes to beat it.

              Yes.

"It’s separated pretty quickly" - AFL legend David King narrows down premiership race to 3 teams

This shows he doesn't do much analysis but just looks at the ladder with no regard as to how teams got there. Had he done some analysis, he would have found that most of Geelong's wins were against teams in the bottom half of the ladder.

Essendon are going to be 2nd on the ladder by the end of the round as they play North.

Like, what? Essendon might actually win a final this year.

The Suns v Cats game was like an under 17s match; it was all see ball, get ball without a bit of pressure. Fine for GC, who could run riot, but surprising from an outfit like Geelong.

Collingwood going to snatch the game from Adelaide? Come on Crows....as much as I dislike them.

                        PS: Damn! They did.

The Crows got in front and then failed to lock it in .
                          How gutted.

The Crows grievance about dodgy umpiring calls at the end of close games will only grow after that too far free call against Rankine. Looked dodgy.

It was right on the cusp. I wonder if the umpire didn't see the bounce at the start of his run.

I don't think that free kick was pivotal. Sure, it robbed the Crows of a chance to snatch it in that late scramble, but the kick went to a nest of players, the Pies seemed in control, and would almost certainly have been able to lock the ball away for those final few seconds.

Free kicks for travel (running too far) would be easier to adjudicate if the rule was tweaked to a fixed number of steps instead of a distance that the umpire must estimate. 15 steps would be about right.
