As people were asking at the Sydney Aussie Rules club, we have to look at the fact that a club like Port can go in and win the flag in next to no time. Yet we have to wait since 1933.

Like them or hate them, we could still learn a hell of a lot from a club like Port Adelaide.

Last bit is so very true. but they also come from a stong and long aus rules background/tradition. Sydney does not have that same background.

As for Alan Jones knowing so much, I think it is called having good researches. I would be very surprised if he knew that much about Port, b4 last week!!!

It was the Lions starting most of the rough stuff. Port, as is their nature didn't shirk the issue. Lynch's roid rage attack at Wakelin was a frigging disgrace. What did wakelin do to deserve that.

I swear Jonathon Brown is the DIRTIEST player in the game. A temper even worse than Barry's. Always involved in unsavory incidents.

What about Akermanis's constant whingimg to get a free-kick through the match?
What about reports of Brisbane players preparing Norm Smith medal speeches in the change room?

My good mate Paralowie Power called me shortly after the GF. I was one of the 1st people he called. I was stoked for him that his team won the flag, as he would be if we were in that position.

Whether you like them or not, I think we should look at how Port do it. 7 years in the comp and Minor Premiers after 5, and Premiers after 7. Not the biggest Williams fan either, but an articulate mind-manored coach would never fit in at a club like Port.

Geez JF, if you admire Port so much, maybe you should become a Port supporter. And maybe you outta be careful next time you run down a team you don't like, cause some of us might have hissy fits and go sulk on Bigfooty. Gawd.

BTW, achieving a premiership after seven years is not that big a deal; the Crows did it in 7 (entered 91, premiership 97) and West Coast did it in 6 (entered 87, premiership 92).

The Crows and Eagles were given the biggest recruiting concessions ever handed out. They were given their states!! They should have won premierships. The Eagles probably should have won more than they did.

That is why I always want to strangle Malthouse when he goes on about Brisbane's salary cap allowance.

Port's acheivements are amazing, they basically don't settle for being second best.

Great way to be..."We exist to win premierships".

            Three words-

            nutshell
            Port
            winning.

I want to see where our club can go so that we can get a winning culture here.

I was at the Port final with all our flags last year Cruiser. And was in tears of delight that day.

So don't be so goddam childish.

Yeah but in some respects as long as you don't post anything too dumb, you don't get attacked that much. I get attacked heaps more here than I do on the AFL board at Bigfooty. (the soccer board is a different kettle of fish though, hey David and Robbie.)

As seen by the hysteria caused by the Members voting rights threads from several RWO posters, anyone not supporting certain people's positions have been attacked and derided right from the get-go, thus intimidating them into not posting about it again. I was insinuated by people like Bart and being up to no good when the concept of member voting rights is something I generally believe, as it makes us a 'normal' footy club like those in the southern states.

So in many respect RWO can be worse than Bigfooty. At least for me it is. As you with less chance of somebody backing up your position. And expect everyone to be civil. When it has been proven that this isn't the case at all.

I thought Williams was great. He has copped SO much abuse, that he is entitled to have his say.

Single me out if you wish but there are others who support my views but it's water of a duck's back to me.

I loved the Port win. Thought it was fantastic for footy, and a nice change to the last three years. Everyone seems to hate Williams, but watching him come down from the coaches box at the end of the game you just know he bleeds for that club and the players, and it's pretty hard to deny the @@@@ he's copped for the past few years.

Brisbane and Mathews were getting boring for me. It's hard to feel happy for players that win a premiership medallion when you know they have another 3 stashed at home.

                            Not a bad game either.

Don't know much about SSI, but I agree with the last statement.

Take away your pretension and I reckon you'd have less diasgreements on this board, JF.
