Three weeks is probably about right. However, I also thought that Atkinson running into Chloe Molloy was worth a week or two, as it was late, with high contact and there was absolutely no reason for her to do it. I'm not really surprised that she wasn't suspended, though, as she was the one that ended up concussed and injury now seems to matter more than intent. Actually, a part of me was a bit worried, that the AFL might have taken that principle to its illogical extreme, and suspended Molloy.

Not sure about policing intentions - sounds a bit 1984, but I'd agree that the match review people should responded to actions rather than results.Last edited by Ruck'n'Roll; 3 September 2024, 07:45 AM.Comment

The Swans had the highest attendance of any of the AFLW games in round #1 - beatiing the Adeialde showdown which had 5,194.
The crowd on Friday night was 5,489
Only 15 people more than the attended our last seasons Swans opener against the Giants.
A bit surprising, you'd think the 'Pies would draw more?
Or was it the 7.15 time-slot?
Last year the Magpies season opener was also a night game but had 8,412 attendees so maybe not.
I do hope attendance doesn't fall.Comment
