    We Have a New Player

Ruckman Paul Chambers from Geelong for Pick 35.

It's being discussed at the end of the very long trade thread for those who want to go there.

But for those who only scan threads less than five pages....now you know!

would say the Everitt deal now looking even more unlikely with this news on Chambers, but that's not all bad for those of us who feared it would cost us ROK.

Interesting though that no deals yet re. Saddington and Powell. Would suggest that some wheeling and dealing is still being done - perhaps re. Ted Richards?

But remember Doyle was very good in late 2004. If he's 100% he will be a more than adequate replacement for Ball.
If Doyley can stay on the park, he will be more than useful to us.

A couple of years back, I think one of the coaching staff was quoted as saying he was the most talented player on the list. I don't mind his ruckwork, and we all know he can kick a goal or two. He might be used more as a full-forward type option, perhaps?

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Everitt would not want to come back to Glenferrie after all the talk of him wanting to leave the club. Maybe another club will come into the picture because surely his teamates, fans and coaching staff have lost a tonne of respect for him.

Don't underestimate Ball's value to this team this year. Ball to Nick Davis v Geelong - winning goal; Ball to Monty GF - winning goal (well anyway the one that got us back ahead). I wonder if any of the others -- Jolly, Doyle or Chapman -- could have or would have been able to pull off anything similar... I still have my doubts about Doyle's injury-prone status. A seasoned GF ruckman or all-Australian would have eased my concerns somewhat more. But I wish him well as a Swannie and will get behind him as soon as he pulls on the jersey.

damn straight...they will want him to go now, he wont be a committed player if he hasstated he wants to play elsewhere, but I just dont think he will be at the swans

I'm just about to post pics of you and Tuesday from last Friday night Eirinnnnn. Did you get the previews yesterday? There will also be a bunch of football players in suits, too. They should go on my site tonight and I'll post a thread here when it happens.

Pfft. I cant wait to watch our boys dish out a hiding to those hapless Hawks in round 9. We'll show em!

You mean Ricky Mott is still plying his trade?

This guy couldnt get a game behind King (who had a shocking year), Ottens (perenially injrd - sorry, Bomber, I'll leave him alone now) & Blake - who, unless he's a poet, I've never heard of.

Hmmm - doesn't exactly scream back to back like Spida. I think there are more twists to come yet. This puts the pressure back on Hawks.
