I think we may be at Act 2 of a five act play - the big finale will be on Friday, as always.

      Paul Chambers

Geelong has traded ruckman Paul Chambers to Sydney in exchange for the Swans' second round pick - No.35 overall.

Not as good as Spida, but we have our ruckman.

      Welcome aboard Paul.

That was Kelvin Templeton a few years back. He was a big rap for Doyle.

I still think he can be a good player for us IF his body ever gets it together.

I did indeed get the pictures.

Did you hear our tales from the rest of the evening? It was quite enjoyable.

For some reason i still think there is one more twist in store. This trade definately doesn't fill me with back to back confidence. But
i do have heaps of faith for Jolly to really take the number 1 ruck position and make it his own.

Reasonable use of pick 35 I guess.

I hope Doyle stands up now. Although Doyle and Saddington for Everitt might still be on the cards.

Spida could still be an option next year when he is out of contract.

If it's true that Roosie offered him three years, then I guess two years at the end of 2006 is still on the cards...I just can't get my head around the fact that he's told the poo and wees that he doesnt want to play with them (and letts face it, who would want to), but they won't let him go. Would they REALLY want him, knowing he doesnt want them...very odd situation!

On another tack, I read that Shaun Rehn is a new assistant coach at Brizzie...does anyone know if one of their assistants has left (although he's their new ruck coach, I was hoping a certain assistant coach may be heading back down south...)
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Was on the Brissie news the other night that cressa will be there again next year apparently. with Lambert and Rehn

Living up here you bump into so many former swans (well 2, Bayesy and cressa, I think there was another one as well, but his name eludes me), seems they just love it up here.

Geelong will be delighted. If Saddo plays sitting on Doyle's shoulders they may be as good as Everitt.

It's not a confident sign that the moment we discover that we've picked up Chambers we immediately begin hoping that Doyle becomes injury free. I was surprised when 'cow noted that we must have watched Chambers play several times against the Swans, yet his ruckwork has left an indelable blank on my mind. I find this a very perplexing recruitment.

swan_song was reminding us of Jason's ability to spoon feed our goalsneeks in particular and asking whether Jolly, Doyle etc. could do the same. And frankly I think the answer is no. Jason was a very experienced tap ruckman (hence our wish for Spider to replace him) and I suspect it will be some while before they can match him (even with his assistance).
I have mentioned young Earl Shaw the rookie ruckman from the blue mountains previously. My enthusiasm for him is largely due to his ability to give his midfielders (More/Nicks/McVeigh/Schmidt) the sort of service Jason Ball was providing, and yes I know it's only the ACTFL, but Earl is still a teenager.
