The booing is probably poor sportsmanship ... but not being satisfied until they win a premiership is, IMHO, quite a reasonable attitude for a supporter!

I agree they are a bunch of nimrods. But having a go at them for a booing an opposition goal is a bit harsh. Sounds like pretty normal barracking to me. I can't remember a team kicking a consolation goal against Sydney late in a match that wasn't heartily booed.



I've always found Adelaide crowds amusing though. When there is an opposition goal, it's so quiet I swear you can hear dingos howling in Alice Springs.

For those who don't know the words.....

"The Power to win, we never give in..."

the Port supporters need to have the words of their club song up on the scoreboard. Plus "POWER, POWER" blinking up on the scoreboard after a goal so that the fans cheer. I'd expect that from us in 1996, or the Lions in Brizzie. Or the Melbourne Storm, where nobody knows what is going on. But at the leaders of the AFL. VERY VERY WEAK PORT ADELAIDE!

I have never been quiter than I was during the second half yesterday. Hope you all saw the fruits of my efforts. We had a bus load of Scotch College boys over from Melbourne, who enjoyed waving the flags, something much appreciated by the locals.

JF, still in SADelaide, and despite yesterday (which was utter hell) am having a good time.

PS:- I'm am NOT an Adelaide version of Dee Lee Mr Fly. We just play **** over here! The locals LOVED your flag when it was waved. They enjoyed me giving them a bit of a shower, as there have been water restrictions over here.

I was at the game with my wife and we were totally surrounded by Port fans . My wife is a very noisy Swans supporter and really upset the locals with her aggressive barracking. We were told ithat opposition fans were not welcome in their midst These words fired me up and led to a lot of verbal hostilities between us and the Port fans but luckily there were no fisticuffs .

My overall impression that the Port fans seemed a sour lot without any evident humour . Maybe the Port fans are not as bad as the Collingwood supporters who have less teeth and more tatts and are slightly more feral .

I haven't had ANY sort of experience with anyone who barracks for PA. Am I missing something? The Crows supporters though, are from a different stream of human evolution altogether. The only thing I don't get about PA is their reluctance to attend matches (esp finals). Strange. Sometimes the SCG looks bare too, but atm we've been competing with Thugby, and apparently the "Fashionably late" trend. Having said that, I like PA this year, despite yesterday's result-and I'm tipping that the GF will be played between PA and the Wankles. The MCG will be almost empty.

I can most certainly confirm that apart from the nice souls who gave our 3-man cheer squad so much help and hospitality (THANKS GUYS!), Port fans most certainly DO suck.

Whinge, moan, grizzle, sook.

"We don't need a shower!" That was the complaint whenever we dared to wave our flags. I was very tempted to dispute the claim that they didn't need showers... but bit my tongue.

Complain about this, groan about that. They need to learn that although Port games go close, they aren't in an empty stadium. They can't have it to themselves, and funnily enough, there is an opposition team out there, with opposition fans. Who might have flags.

They were the footy team. Don't know who they were playing though. They went over on the same flight I did.

footy park and subiaco, the same... it frustrates the hell out of me when fans boo at every opportunity especially to a legit free kick against... ie i was watching the bullies vs weagles game the other weak and chick almost ripped a bullies head off his shoulders, hit him very hard and the subsequent free kick was rewarded and the yelling and screaming that followed was ridiculous... very childish and unsportsman like... if an opposition team puts together a nice play or a great goal is kicked ill be the first to clap and say "great play, great play"

the exceptions lie in carey and lloyd... sydney supporters have never liked them im pretty sure thats the only time we really boo... oh and maybe stafford only coz of the pain he gave us for years... i think we could add wankaneen to that list and c. cornes (that bloke just gives me these huge urges to take to his face with a cricket bat! coc.ky pr.ick ) port still stay my no. 1 hated team
