So you automatically throw me in that category? Well done Charles Darwin. Your theory of evolution astounds me.

And that's how the average Victorian feels? Perhaps in High school. But I really think that neored is of the neolithic Victorian Fraternity and not the average at all.

Don't get me wrong Charlie. I'm on your side. Just don't try and pigeon hole me cos u will only fail.

You support the MCG contract... and you're saying you're not Vic-centric? There's a conflict there if you support an interstate club, but don't support them on the number one issue they face at the moment.

I hope you're on our side. There's nothing that could hurt the Swans more than division between the Melbourne and Sydney fan bases. I may not really understand how it was for South Melbourne fans in 1981, and afterwards. I wasn't born, so naturally I can't really get a handle on what the name "South Melbourne" means, as much as I respect it. All I ask of those that chose to stick around, is stick around without complaining. I firmly believe that the club and the AFL doesn't do enough for the Melbourne fan base... but I know and accept the limitations.

i think your posts are good and valid. And i feel for you with your problems in sydney with the cheersquad.I'd hate to be up there and have to deal with that every second week.
I don't necessarily see the way people react up here as a problem. It is just the way people tend to be, individualistic as opposed to wanting to be part of a greater tribal whole.

But basically the only ground I ever have problems at is the SCG. Away fans fire barbs, I fire back. Then get told off for doing so. Or cop more flack from the yobs, when the security staff suddenly have other things to do. (The Bullies yob didn't even get ejected from the ground; we got in trouble for yelling at security demanding it).

The way the recalcitrant SCG knobs have learnt to deal with it is to constantly tell supporters behind Bay 22 to move away from that area. Even people like Paralowie Power have copped the "Move on" treatment from Mr Stay-Puffed, the SCG Marshmellow Man.

I'm pining for the building of the new behind-the-goals stand. That way they walkway between the seats up the back of the hill and us in Bay 22 can be taken away, also meaning that more Swans supporters can get closer to the main people leading the chanting.

Has anyone heard anything about the new stand? You know, the one with the hotel similar to the Skydome in TO. I've not heard a thing about it.

New stand? Will it increase capacity by much?

Has it been named? If not, the club should campaign to have it called the Paul Kelly Stand - for the greatest Swan of the SCG era. There's a RL stand I think, several cricket stands... why not an AFL stand?

I can't be bothered Charles. You're taking it too personally and are thus blinded. I don't need to explain myself on my stance with the MCG contract, unless of course someone asks. But lets just say that in all those posts in that thread, AngelicAngel (?) was the most objectively fair and I stated so.

As for unity between members... bah humbug! I couldn't give a rat's if there is a division b/w Melb/Syd supporters. The fact is, we are all led by our own motivations and beliefs. If you think the Sydney based members care about the Melbourne based members, and vice versa, you are only fooling yourself. Oh don't get me wrong they "understand how you feel, but.." Deep down, there's always that "but" .
Now I wholly understand individual stances on these issues, I'm quite empathetic realy, but it doesn't mean I'm going to shutup and go along with the flow as you suggest. I'm a proud member, I'm going to voice my opinion, and I have every right in which to do so. If you need any more clarifications from me, just PM me please.
