    traitor banner

Did anyone see the pies banner "Nick Davis = traitor".

It must say smething for the mentality of the average collingwood supporter, who can't see that Nick's situation was the same as Anthony Rocca. Next time we play the pies, lets get some disparaging banners about THEIR players...
Or maybe not, I'd like to think we are above that...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

    It's to be expected.

Anthony Rocca (unlike Nick Davis) didn't come out the season before he left and say that he was staying in Sydney.

Davis stated that he would stay at Collingwood but infact he lied. Thus it's expected there is some ill feeling.

I agree. Last night was a classic example of karma for Davis.

He actually restated that he would be staying the day after the Grand Final.

I was a huge fan of Davis as a player but as the great Norm Smith says. "If you haven't got honesty, you have nothing"

I think you're getting worked up a bit over a silly banner.

I think the last time karma caught up with the pies, was in 93...or was it last year with cry baby Mick and Licuria on the last weekend in september...

It's an odd thing, but I don't hate the pies at all...in fact of the melbourne teams, I quite like them...along with the roos and the drunks... well, "like" may be too strong a word, maybe "dislike less" would be better.... but I DO have a real dilemma next week, as I DO hate Essendon....but i'm leaning to barracking for them... it is a real poser, and one that will torment me till next weekend

No he didn't . If he would've wanted to stay, he COULD HAVE , or more importantly WOULD HAVE , regardless of what day, and regardless of what any of the B&W Army thought . Thats the facts .

                        Look I think it's a non issue.

Please and this may surprise you, a couple of supporters holding a banner is not a true indication of our supporter base.

I was very pissed off when Nick left. I rated him as a player and like when Williams left, I did feel a bit low.

I think now that I and a lot of other Collingwood supporters have moved on. I feel no bitterness towards Nick but some do.

Nick did state after the Grand Final he was staying at Collingwood. Argue want you want, but they are the facts.

Really, is it a big issue that two guys had a banner like that?

Hmm... there were two blokes who WERE murdered and dumped in the sticks out in that area... maybe they were Collingwood "traitors".

If so, they died in the pursuit of freedom. We will remember them.
                            We hate Anthony Rocca

Didn't see the banner on the night, but that's a pretty pathetic statement to put on a club endorsed thing. It's one thing some ferals still harbouring a grudge but you'd have thought the club itself would have moved on. Is that what it took to have the team motivate themselves to play? Sad.
