I never really understood how ND could be a traitor when he is now playing for his HOME team?..I mean that is the opposite of traitor..so when I saw their banner, I just thought that it didn't make sense and that the people who made it weren't that bright!

I then started to think about how bad the education system must be in the Collingwood area...and felt sorry for them..

I do know what their reasoning is..I believe at one stage he said he would stay at Collingwood etc...but still, the banner is just nonsensical...

As for the rest of this stuff..well way to go Collingwood supporters! They'll make Nick into a Sydney cult hero if they continue to react this way...and of course if that happens, Nick will make a fortune!

I really think this is exagerated enormously.
I know for a fact that Nick was completely out of his mind on Thursday night. If he had of been sane for even a moment that night he would have known better.
Anyway really it's a badge, everyone hates Collingwood it's just a known fact. I think all these losers who are going n about it, need to get over it.

was having a look last night at Nick's site, there have been a few sensible comments posted. One questioned why if ND is someone they hate and plays for another club, does he get more posts and threads than players still there. The comment of moving on and getting over it was also made a couple of times.

One poster also mentioned visiting here and tried to explain the circumstances behind the photo, so obviously not everyone over there have a "I hate Nick Davis" motivational CD they turn on at night when going to bed.

IMO opinion much ado about nothing on their part.

We love you Nick and in the end that's all that matters from a supporter point of view. On a personal level only Nick knows the damage that's been done.

Since he put on the badge, I think Nick Davis HAS become a new cult hero.

He has humiliated and upset the Collingwood supporters with one innocent (aka drunken) gesture far more than even the best trolling Frosty's Flank or Grayham could ever contemplate.

The point that some people seem to have overlooked throughout all of this, is whilst Collingwood supporters have had a field day with it, its not really them who matter . Sure they say some horrid things, but really, they're just faces in the crowd, or usernames on internet sites to Nick .Its a little bit more personal than that.

The people who matter are the Collingwood people he still had relationships with, players, staff etc . It's not just a case of a few ferals on an internet site giving him a send along . Its a matter of being embarrassed in front of decent people who were good to him , believed in him, trusted him, and didn't turn their backs on him when almost everyone else did.

Good point Ruda, I think he would have lost what few friends he had at the Pies after that. Collingwood people are pretty disappointed it seems that he would put a badge like that on after some put out their necks for him. No need for that photo to be put up on the internet.

Maybe. But while I agree it was entirely inappropriate for the photo to be published where it was, surely those friends at Collingwood would understand the context in which the photo was taken?

Well you would've thought so, but a good few of the ones i've spoken to, haven't seen the funny side of it at all. These people aren't the usual run of the mill Collingwood supporters either, they're people within the club. Good people through and through, with everyones best interests at heart, including Nick's. Furthermore they don't give a damn how it happened, only that it did happen . Whether they need to get over it or not is irrelevant. They never should have known about it in the first place .

The kindest thing one guy could find to say was that it was extremely irresponsible considering the situation with the CFC. Another said he was disappointed at the lack of integrity shown .

Remember Craig Davis is still held in very high regard at Collingwood, so its strained all kinds of relationships, not just the ones between Nick and Collingwood supporters, or Nick and fine weather friends.

How is feeling like an absolute imbecile in front of people who went out of
their way to help you, when nobody else cared if you lived or died - blowing
it out of proportion ? How is trying to explain something to people you care
about, and hoping they then don't just throw you in the ' Nick's Too Hard '
basket, like hundreds of others did - blowing it out of proportion ?

He's always been very careful about what he's said in public about
Collingwood for a very good reason. Posting a picture of him, without his
permission, whilst he's wearing a badge stating the exact opposite to
anything he's ever said publically before .... isn't really blowing things
out of proprtion at all . It's called taking his choice away from him, just
for a laugh , or making him appear as a hypocrite, through no fault of his own.
