Looks like the Sydneyswans website has been updated.

They've listed Willoughby in the players section with a photo.

Also, Buchanan's there (not sure if he was taken off before).

Schmidt, Ericksen and Davis are not listed.

Unless of course we delist someone before the Pre Season Draft (which we can do)

The reason I have Pettigrew so high was because I felt a Perth club would take him, but I was of the belief that if not picked up by a Perth club, he would fall late 3rd round - early 4th Round. Personally I wouldn't of pick him myself over a Gayfer or Johnson because he has more filling out to do, than those 2. But then again Gayfer and Johnson didn't get picked up so that shows how much I know.

I'm not crying in my beer about this one and it will be at least 3 years before any of us are proven right or wrong.
Right from the get go I had a MASSIVE question mark over Johnson as posted before I saw him a few times this year and really thought he was not good enough, maybe on a WA teams rookie list.

I knew what you meant but er um I can't really remeber Hendrie and Polkinghorne - but Maginess and Loveridge?

Hendrie and Polkinghorne were very tough players.

Maginess I was never a huge rap for (I was in his year at school and I was amazed he played VFL given his skills), but he was still pretty tough and was a regular in the best team of the 80s for a few years.

              Loveridge was an outstanding rover.

It's an interesting situation on the draft picks. It's great that for a change after this years great season there's not as much deparation coming from the punters and the club on who we needed to draft to make our season...perhaps the Swans good year has given the club reward, space and option of taking another punt on the likes of Amon! Who it must be remembered is a Schieds like goal sneak when confident and injury free!

Yes the thought is that we need a defender but perhaps the train of thought is the same as this year from Roos give the young guns a chance- or even second or third- to prove themselves beforehand instead of causing unwanted player disharmony and make them want to play for the club real bad!

Roos has proven he can bring out the best in players, let's let him continue on that path. As far as defenders are concerned Meiklejohn played there this year, Powell - who I describe as a real goer and who tackles above his weight has played there too, LRT may go back more often and let not forget the man who wants it the most and will be given the chance i think....Heath James!

All these guys will be putting pressure on Craig Bolton to hold his spot as well and Craig himself will improve even more no doubt... that's a very healthy situation for the backline and Swans to be in! Season 2004... bring it on!

Maybe I am wrong but I can not recall Meiklejohn playing in the backline in the Seniors . I saw quite a few Reserves games and he played in the ruck on those occasions also. I have yet to hear anyone say that he is being groomed for a KP back position.

Maybe this is a new strategy .

I remember MJ playing in he backline for about five minutes in the r5 game against Melbourne but after he had a couple of marks taken against him (by White, I think) he was replaced (by Warfe!)

MJ still has a lot of development to go before we see what he's capable of at AFL level but you'd have to think that he'll be primarily groomed for the ruck. The club must think he shows promise given his elevation onto the senior list on a permanent basis.

i cant remember warfe going on to white, i thought warfe was on jolly when jolly was in the forward line... i could be very wrong, JM got 1 goal kicked on him after a mark taken by white out on the 50, i was impressed by meiklejohn's ability to keep up with white on the lead, as white is no slow coach! white was in peak form then as well...

he did spend about 5 minutes in the rd 20 game against brisbane, i think keating dragged him back there and was only involved in one contest... so, little to no time back there... but i was pushing for it numerous times during the season

on another note, i really liked willo2's, albeit brief, interview... he wasnt a cliche boy and seemed to have a good camera presence, potentially another face to the swans...

You are spot on re Meiklejohn 5 minutes spell in the backline against Melbourne. Apart from that spell I can not recall any other time spent in the backline , particularly , at Senior level. At this stage of his development IMO Meiklejohn is purely a ruckman.

As excited as C/wood are today - most likely he is a marginal prospect.
Maybe. But they probably won't have to wait 2-3 years to even begin to find out, will they?

Malthouse has put together a reasonable team in his time there (the bastard), as evidenced by the past two GFs. I don't think he'd cross the road, let alone Bass Strait, for a dud.

Riggght. Like the times when you happen to agree with them!

Come on, of course I know that. I never have, or ever will pass myself off as an expert. Or even an amateur. I'm just expressing an opinion, is all. Like everyone else on this board.

But Reggi, I must ask you something -- exactly who is (and better still, how do you pronounce) Kosshereninstxke?

Polkinghorne and Loveridge were defiantely Scotch, from memory Maginness is too.

Scotch has produced a few draftees over recent years, Erickson, Brown, Will Slade (Geelong), Nick Gill (Melbourne/North Melbourne). The growth of TAC Cup Under 18's has seen a decrease in the APS being a strong breeding ground. Even Erick came through from Sandringham Dragons rather than from Scotch.

Cam Brown soft , asking him or his Dad about it, I'm sure you'll get a decent response

I can't see Morrison being a dud anyone who can kick nine goals in a senior game on debut at 14 must have a fair bit of talent
