    This is another serious question.

It's amazing what you can learn on RWO.
That is a hard one, as many of those players have taken a significant cut just to keep the team in tack.

If I had to have a stab, I would have it as follows:

    Voss $500,000
    Black $380,000
    Lappin $350,000
    Aker $350,000

All are being paid significantly less than what they could get on the open market.

Jude Bolton was the best player on the park in a hard fought, even match between 5th and 6th.

I am totally bewildered by this thread, footyhead. Jude is clearly our number 2 midfielder. He is contributing much more than Mathews, Williams and Maxfield nearly every week...and as I said in another thread, I believe this particular game was a breakthrough for him.

If he is the number 2 midfielder on our list then his pay would (logically) be in the $300,000 range for the next couple of years. This is the market standard.

          Shane O'Bree probably gets $250,000!

Exactly and with this kind of money being paid to jude, I respectfully suggest that it leaves us little room to move with negotiations with a Black or a lappin or an Akker, all of whom look well under paid if those figures are what they are getting , compared to jude @ $330 000

Footyhead, the club has consistently stated that we do not currently pay the full 100%, let alone spend the extra COI and retention allowance we are allowed to spend.

We have plenty of money to spend on at least two of those players if needed.

Problem, is none of those players want to leave Brisbane and no money is going to change that.

Are you advocating that we slash all players contracts to the bare minimum in the hope that we might snare one of these players in the future? What happens if we don't get the desired player and half the team walks out to play elsewhere, where they get paid market rate.

Which means the extra $50,000 he negiotated this year after using the Swans to drive the price up, puts him in the $340,000 + bracket.

About where I thought he was.

Acker's nett would be a little higher than you'd expect; he handles his own management and contract negotiations with the Lions so he cuts out a manager's sling of about $50K p/a on his contract.

I have had to laugh reading all of the so called amchair experts giving their 300 grands & two cents worth.

Firstly, it's ludicrous to think that you can dump a Jude, "try" to buy a Judd and all will be well. When a player like Lockett changes clubs and reinvents himself (ie. breathes new life in the twilight of his career), it hardly means that someone in their prime can simply pull on another guersney and take a team to the flag. Give me an *ffing break ...

                              Finally someone is talking sense.

Jude was easily our best player, tried his guts out and took some great marks. That goal he kicked was also very classy.

Is Jude worth 300k? I think he is, based on the fact he will turn into a topline midfielder.
