PS:- The best thing that happened tonight. We sang "In your Essendon slums". You should have seen the look on the face of Denise the Melbourne Cheer Squad president and Essendon resident.

I thought he was useful last night. Nothing startling but was able to get the ball and do some okay things with it.
But, I note in one of the recent articles about him they talked about his pay level as putting him as one of the elite in the competition He's certainly not that. I think some people may have an exaggerated view of what the average player gets paid.

Jude the best thing out of Essendon? What about Pebbles?

I disagree. To keep him we'd have to pay that much. He is certainly in the top 20 midfielders in the comp, and his potentail puts him in the top 10.

I disagree big time.
Top 20 - that's barely more than 1 player per team, on average. IMO every other team in the league has a better midfielder than Bolton and many have several - Brisbane, Port, St Kilda, West Coast, etc.

Nigel Lappin, Simon Black, Ricciuto, Voss, Akermanis, Buckley, Burns, Cousins, Judd, Kerr, Nathan Brown, Ling, Nick Stevens, Hasleby, Pavlich, Hird, McLeod, Hayes, Kirk, Crawford, Luke Power. Off the top of my head, there's about 20 midfielders that are better than Jude. I love the way the bloke plays, and hope he stays in Sydney, but I think there's a way to go before he becomes a top 20 midfielder (and yes, he does have the potential).
On a side note, he's going to be on On the Couch tomorrow night, so maybe he'll give us an indication of where he thinks he's at.
I went through this a while ago - I reckon there are easily twenty better midfielders than Bolton, and probably another twenty with more potential.

Jude is not in the top 20 midfielders. Perhaps tries harder than some of them, but he certainly isn't part of, or close to the elite group.
So what do you people base performance on?? Emotion, media hype, reputation? If Jude is currently 26th on possessions (equal with Judd) and 11th in tackles then why wouldn't he be in the top 20??
