Nikki Tugwell from the Fox Sports website mentioned in an article this morning that the Swans could be targeting the following players from opposition clubs -
* Cameron Bruce, Mark McVeigh, Shane Crawford, Tim Notting, Richard Hadley, Troy Simmonds, Matthew Clarke, Clarke Keating, Peter Everritt and possibly Daniel Bradshaw, Brad Ottens and Lance Whitnall.
IMO, the Swans should primarily target Cameron Bruce, Brad Ottens, Tim Notting, Daniel Bradshaw, Shane Crawford, Troy Simmonds and Mark McVeigh in that order.
Of course we won't get, or have the room in the salary cap, for all seven players, with two players being a necessity, three handy and four a bonus.
Preferably Bruce, Ottens and Notting would be the main targets with Bradshawand/or Crawford a bonus, as these players all can play in two to three positions in either the Ruck, backline, forward line or on the ball.
Contrary to what many people believe, IMO the Swans midfield isn't as bad as many people believe if Goodes was played on the ball as a ruck-rover, one or two of the younger players came through and we picked up either or both of Bruce or Notting.
A rotating on-ball division of J.Bolton, Kirk, Goodes, Williams (who has at least one good year left in the tank), Schneider, McVeigh, Matthews (unfortunately), Bruce and Notting would surely be the envy of most clubs in the competition.
Opinions please.......
