Re: Re: Re: Re: So what are we willing to give for Ottens??
Being a
country supporter I am not familiar with SSI but I am curious they
seem to get plenty of mentions can anyone enlighten me as to
what role they actually have. As far as recruiting goes I am happy
to leave it in the hands of Roos Barham and the football people
at the club. cheers Ian

Whilst SSI is well-intentioned, they cause many more problems than they 'solve'.
When they think they have had a 'victory' on the appointment of the coach, they will be emboldened and want a say in the next issue, and the next - player trades, where we play home games, design of our uniform, etc, etc... (where would it end??).
Aside from the absurdity of people who have little inside knowledge of the facts wanting a say in important decisions, this would disenfranchise other supporters and split the club, create populist (politician-like) decision making, and divert the focus of our administrators away from their key duties. Anyone involved with this group needs to think very carefully about this.
If they ever get a seat (or seats) on the board then it will truly be a case of the inmates running the asylum and time to rip/cut up my membership. I am sure you would see a 'No SSI' ticket start if they make a formal bid for the board.
Bottom line - we pay professional football administrators to make fully informed decisions, so unless something outrageous is happenong, we must have faith in this system.
My view on what we should give up for Ottens. Two of 22, 12, 20, first round draft pick. Definitely not 5.
