Aside from the absurdity of people who have little inside knowledge of the facts wanting a say in important decisions, this would disenfranchise other supporters and split the club, create populist (politician-like) decision making, and divert the focus of our administrators away from their key duties. Anyone involved with this group needs to think very carefully about this.

If they ever get a seat (or seats) on the board then it will truly be a case of the inmates running the asylum and time to rip/cut up my membership. I am sure you would see a 'No SSI' ticket start if they make a formal bid for the board.

Bottom line - we pay professional football administrators to make fully informed decisions, so unless something outrageous is happenong, we must have faith in this system.

My view on what we should give up for Ottens. Two of 22, 12, 20, first round draft pick. Definitely not 5.
    Being a
country supporter I am not familiar with SSI but I am curious they
seem to get plenty of mentions can anyone enlighten me as to
what role they actually have. As far as recruiting goes I am happy
to leave it in the hands of Roos Barham and the football people
    at the club. cheers Ian

But I do know that the club has said to me and others - in writing that they take "very seriously" the fans concerns on this issue.
If the club takes into account ANY fans opinion when deciding on whether or not to trade for a player, then they can take a running jump. To be honest the only time I think the club even remotely listened to the fans was during the Carey trade talk in 2002 and even then if the club felt right about the trade, they would of made it regardless of what us fans had to say on the issue on here, in the newspaper and via letters, email and faxs to the club.

I have in the past like most others on this site have expressed my views on how we should handle the trade period and the draft itself. I have posted phantom drafts in each of the past two seasons and will do so again this season. I will and have put out a list of trade bait (Saddo, Fosdike and Ablett), trade targets (Crawford, Notting, Ottens and Ball) and delistings (WarfE, MJ, Sundqvist and Malceski).

Just because I do it doesn't mean I want the club to do as I say, it would be nice but I'll repect any decision the club makes and at the end of the day I hope that we made a trade or missed out on a trade based solely on the opinion of a fan or group of fans.

So let me get this straight....you believe that yourself and SSI have a part in trade and match day selections?? I dont think Roos could give a toss about your input to be honest. He would choose a team that he believes that will take us to a Flag. I dont think what a single supporter feels will matter. Its a footy club darling, not a friggin soap opera.

Fans should really have no input into football strategy and tactics - this is up to the coach and the football department.

So it is definite that Fosdike is Adelaide bound, I haven't seen anything mentioning him in Melbourne.

No sprite just the usual speculation and innuendo from those on the board that dislike certain players

Would we be happy to give Pick 13 to get a player like Fosdike? Don't think so. So, why would Adelaide do it?

We gave something like pick #6 for him...
