You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I personally would be happy to see the back of that lazy over-rated Davis.

We're gunna hold a dutch auction!!

Go for it Roosy Ottens and Gilbee (don't know much about him personally).

Time to make some tough decisions.

Let the wheeling and dealing begin!!!

The news at the end of this week promises to add some interesting debate here, with who has gone and who has arrived.

Might just be what Davis needs. The threat of being traded may just be the turning point in his career. Hopefully he will bust his gut over the off season and get into shape and have a blinder of a season next year. It would be shame to see such a talent wasted.

I am surprised Davis is being touted as tradable but I guess that shows how serious Roos is about being active this trade period.

I also cannot understand why Doyle would be offered for a trade either, given we have very few ruckmen as it is.

99% sure Nick Davis won't be traded.

He won't want to leave, and I'd be surprised if he only had a two year contract when he came.

Davis, Saddo and a midfielder is far to much for the 6th draft pick, considering Essendon snared last year's pick 6 for Jacobs alone. Even though that was daylight robbery, we'd be done if we did that deal, unless we could snare one of the Bulldogs youngsters in the process (a Minson or Skipper might add some developing height to the squad, though I've not seen much of either of these two this year).

Talk of trading Doyle just doesn't make sense. We'd be better off keeping him and forgetting about Ottens, IMHO. I don't think Ottens has shown anything like the sustained form to justify all this hysteria over him.

Interesting to read that Thompson thinks he has 15 untouchables. I doubt he really does - and hope not for his sake. If Geelong could snare a quality marking forward they could become a real contender for a flag in the next two years but without one I suspect they'll always fall short. No club has 15 untouchables, if the right deal comes along.

Firstly, it is interesting that the Swans seem so eager to make a play for Ottens.

They don't just sit there together and pick someone to have a go for.
There is much discussion between the clubs before the trade talks start, and one would assume that the Tigers have made it clear that they have no real preference for Ottens next year.
                    Best offer wins.

                    Davis is interesting too.
I wonder if he hasn't adhered to the 'Mott rule' and the club are worried about his future.
Or perhaps we are forward line heavy in the eyes of the club and he is dispensible...

Totally agree. If we got Ottens from this we would end up giving 2 best 18 (22 if you want to nit pick!) players + I assume a reserves midfielder (which we can afford) + a 1st round (albeit a late one) draft pick + $500k p.a. * 4 years. Nick and Jason's seasons have both highlighted how gifted players can be struck down with injury. Risky, risk, risky.

I realize you have to sacrifice talent to get talent in the trading game, but if Nick did leave it would make it one of the more dissapointing trades the club has made recently in my mind.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I couldn't see Doyle being traded unless we picked up Ottens and Jolly.

No matter what happens this week atleast the Roosy is going to have a crack at injecting the players he thinks we need to take the next step.

N.Davis if not traded may be just mentioned to try and get the best out of him as lazy players won't last long at Sydney under Roos
